Our world is a pendulum existence.

We really do live in a pendulum world which swings back and forth in the same age-old patterns.

The older generations have always disapproved of the younger - it is just a natural thing.

When people are young they embrace new concepts and struggle against authority - parents, teachers etc.

Then they cross an invisible line and become that authority - and yet are surprised when the young defy them.
