Feb 11th show of power?

" Islamic Revolution was one of history’s greatest events: Ahmadinejad TEHRAN, Jan. 29 (MNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has described the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 as the greatest event in the history of humanity after the incidents that occurred in the first years after the advent of Islam.
“The Islamic Revolution has profoundly influenced all dimensions of human life… Independence and freedom are the main accomplishments of this revolution,” Ahmadinejad said here on Tuesday at a meeting with the organizers of the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations (February 1 to 11), which commemorate the anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
“The Islamic Revolution happened at a time when human generosity had been destroyed. The Ten-Day Dawn not only celebrates the freedom and independence of the Iranian nation, it belongs to all humanity because it commemorates the recreation of human identity by the Islamic Revolution,” Ahmadinejad stated.
According to the late Imam Khomeini, the Founder of the Islamic Republic, “the day of the victory of the Islamic Revolution is the day of the rule of God,” said the president, adding, “This revolution manifests the leadership of the Islamic ummah.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday. "If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.

Please standby. While waiting for service to resume please enjoy this word about our sponsor.

Press TV is state-funded[6] and is a division of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The annual budget of Press TV is 250 billion Rials (more than 25 million US dollars).[7]

Press TV broadcasts news reports and analyses which are close to the official position of the Iranian government, and its programmes are monitored and regulated by the Islamic Republic.[8][9] Although there have been attempts to establish private, independent media outlets in Iran, notably by former Iranian Presidential candidate Mehdi Karroubi, the 1979 Constitution of the Islamic Republic mandates that "all broadcasting must exclusively be government-operated."[10]

OK cool.

It sounded ominous and then to have a dead link so to speak. I thought for a second it may have been pulled.

Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.

The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.

Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.

He better talk softly...his country is on the edge...if he does anything stupid, it could spark off a all out civil war...especially if he angers the really big dogs.

Iranian people aren't stupid...if for instance he decides to go warlike against the west/israel, chances are, he would end up assassinated in short order...the people dont want invasion forces and bombs dropping on them all day. The young people are very modern/pro western overall and had more than enough of the theocracy. They want cokes, movies, and nightclubs now and are about ready to fight for it.

So go on then Ahmaoj;qewrnf;oier, say your piece in front of the people whom sneer at you...make it a winner, cause who knows, it could end up being your last.

addition - wouldn't it be wild if he came out and introduced a extraterrestrial...F the nukes, Iran now has flying saucers...

Could be that Iran will make a play to take the power from Saudi. Apparently the US is committing to protecting Saudi oil fields which are scheduled to be burned. Since AQ is anti-Saudi... we'll see what happens.

Probably something like that.

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- An influential Iranian cleric said Sunday that the West must know Iran's nuclear program is " irreversible," the state-run IRNA news agency reported.

Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Chairman of Iran's Assembly of Experts and Chairman of the Expediency Council, said that "they (the West) must know that Iran is very serious about its nuclear program, both on enrichment and uranium swap, and our way is irreversible."

A mountain out of a mole hill

He will probably be turning on the nuclear power plant or turning the first sod for thei very own fuel refinery.

On the same page on press TV it had a headline about peres pressuring the IAEA over Irans nuclear ambition.

That headline made me laugh the most, please ignore all our nukes and pressure the country wanting to produce their own power
