We have mobile nuclear missile launchers on our interstate highways moving at all times. They have replaced all the old ones that were disguised as 53ft moving vans. They said "Worldwide Electronic Exhibits" on the side. In case one crashed and the rocket was visible, they could just say it was an electronics exhibit and not a real rocket. They were orange and white moving trailers. They have all been off the road for many years. Anyone know what the new ones look like?

Cloest thing I've heard of to this is the rail garrison system for the Peacekeepr line of ICBMs, however they were of course not hauled by tractor and trailers but rather trains, so its a little unlikely to see them going down the highway.

I don't believe that for a second. Mobile ICBMs have all the potential to undermine nuclear equilibrium factor because these are unverifiable and hard to hit. Soviets used to have a massive number of ICBMs mounted on rail, and given the size of that country (you might want to check it out) finding those makes needle in a haystack look trivial.

So at some point, there was a treaty that ended that practice, and I believe that the US would stick with it (or risk resumption of that Russian practice).

Post classified information at your own risk fellow Above Top Secretions. I've been tempted to leak the good stuff here, but remember, they have "plumbers" to fix leaks.

They stop regularly at restaurants, gas stations and truck stops along the way. You might have been one of the thousands of people who have unknowingly sipped a coffee or eaten a Big Mac a few yards from an H-bomb.

Above Top Secretions

You made my day Dashen, you're even funnier than the thread itself.

This seems very possible, because it is an extremely stupid idea. Thats all our elected officials can do, is give us really stupid idea's. If it's moronic..they'll do it. How long before the house of cards comes crashing down? Not very long I suspect.... We are all Kings in a land of pretenders, imposters, usurpers.

Since when did nuclear weapons become "PEACEKEEPERS"
I found it funny that they are called that when the very nature of a nuclear weapon is massive and total destruction!

To the OP where did you find the info. You did not quote a source and I am very interested to read more about this...

In theory It could as well be

"One of the smallest nuclear weapons ever built, the Davy Crockett was developed in the late 1950s for use against Soviet troops had war broken out in Europe. Small teams of the Atomic Battle Group (charged with operating the device) would be stationed every few kilometers to guard against Soviet attack, using the power of their nuclear artillery to kill or incapacitate advancing troop formations and irradiate the area so that it was uninhabitable for up to 48 hours, long enough to mobilize NATO forces."

Theres your source. You would be absolutely **SHOCKED** where some of these very active ICBMs are siloed.

These are NOT used to transport missiles or even missile components.

Just nuclear material.I used to load and unload these vehicles.

There was a USAF program called the MX missile defense that did do testing about the feasibility of mobile carriers both on transporters and by rail.

I will come back later and posts some pictures of their facility at the NTS.

I saw two of their mobile transporters and the train.

One of the transporters can be seen by googling it in images.

The other I have never seen a picture of publicly. It was to huge to even think about driving on a regular road.

Nothing I will post is a state secret and I never signed a non-disclosure agreement.

So anyone posting that silly crap can forget about it.

Don't ask me details, because I have very bad memory.

Maybe 3 weeks ago, I saw a long shiny semi followed by two large white SUV's with government tags. I can't remember the colour of the semi, but all of the vehicles were government tags. There were several men in each SUV. At first I thought they were military recruits about to be suckered at the KC center, but the men were adults. They were driving up 435 North...it had to be on a Saturday late afternoon. There was minimal traffic.

I stayed near them for probably 15 minutes, and they were definitely together. In fact, I was feeling a little naughty and didn't leave their side the whole time. They were watchig me, too. It was hilarious. They were headed in the direction of the larger airport.

Sure would like to know what they were babysitting.

Real quickly the escorts don't follow right behind there is a requirement of distance for them.

There were probably more than the two escorts also. And yeah they checked you out called in your license number and knew all about you in minutes.

They even know you posted the encounter on this site.Sleep good tonight knowing you are being monitored now.

I said I would be back to post some pictures.

These are from the Nevada Test Site. The USAF did some preliminary studies and burned through a lot of taxpayer money trying to convince congress that transporting missiles on mobile launchers both by vehicle and trains. These are photos from the site off of Google Earth.

I also am including a link to a KMZ file that will take you there in Google Earth.

This is a view is of the transporter test track the track is on the right and the parking area for the transporters is on the left.Don't have a clue what the items parked there now are.

This is a view of the train tunnel they built to study the feasibility of hiding the missiles in side mountains.

There used to be tracks coming out and when I was there a train and a rail car were inside.I saw the front of the train but never ventured inside.

Don't like dark tunnels, wasn't worried about getting caught.

The KMZ files include where the Admin building and shop areas were.

MX Missile Transporter Test area.

All this stuff had been unused for about 5 years when I was there.

But when I was there there was a big honking transporter parked across th street that was not the one you see when searching images on the net.It was twice the size.

It had a BIG tractor at both ends to move it.

I never get any good info off the internet or any other media. I have found that they are all unreliable. This conspiracy, like all others, started with a gut feeling. The plumbers have not been after my leaks yet. This is the last of my theories and the biggest one. Part of me likes the fact that I am protected by a secret network and part of me hates it. I would like to live in a country that does not have secrets like this. Maybe the US will be forced to reveal everything out of sheer poverty.

Any chance you might have one of the US currency mints near that area? Large amounts of newly printed money are carried on pallets, in large shiny trucks, accompanied by very well armed individuals, and it's usually flown out or trucked to the nearest Federal Reserve bank.

There was never nuclear equilibrium in any meaningful sense of the word. One of belligerents, the US/NATO or the USSR, would have 'lost' the war but since there were so many unknown neither side felt that 'victory' would constitute a net gain in the ability to control/protect their populations or project power around the world.

As the hunt for Iraq's scuds showed road mobile missiles are exceedingly hard to find even if you have managed complete air superiority over the suspected areas; not something that was ever realistic in the skies of the former USSR.

Soviets used to have a massive number of ICBMs mounted on rail, and given the size of that country (you might want to check it out) finding those makes needle in a haystack look trivial.

And the Russians had and still do have a large haystack and somewhere around 200 of those needle's.

No. The US unilaterally, but slowly, disarmed itself while the Russians took older weapons out of service and have kept right on deploying newer one' despite all the supposed economic hardship.

Stellar

Auferre, trucidare, rapere, falsis nominibus imperium; atque, ubi solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant.

Translating the relevant part: "and where they make a desert, they call it peace."

If you understand what empire is about you will realise that the threat of annihilation can keep even the most dangerous, or suspected of being so, of enemies at bay. In the days of old cities would be raised ( by hand and fire) and irrigation works destroyed so as to prevent the much reduced population ( that you didn't butcher outright) will have great trouble ever rebelling against your authority again. In this way the 'peace' is kept and the empire preserved. I would call it progress when everyone understands the threat and knows what rebellion/war can easily lead to but opinions do vary.

As far as i know the US never deployed road mobile missiles ( the USSR did and Russian federation still does) but it did deploy rail mobile missiles which have long been withdrawn from service. Why the peacekeepers ( they were more than able of keeping it with them) where withdrawn no one has been able to explain to my satisfaction.

Regards,

Stellar
