we're having some WEIRD weather right now, it looks like there'll be a tornado or something. the sky has a weird, artificial look to it, the wind is gusting up to 60MPH, the powerlines are swaying pretty violently, etc. Does anyone know if this has to do with the two sunspots today?

two almost identical fronts, with two similar sunspots...

mods, please move, i didn't know where to put this.

thank you.

Yah I just got to work, its like a tropical storm in Philly. Very odd indeed. Warm enough to be running around in a T-shirt if it weren't for the ridiculous winds and downpour.

Intense? I dunno about that, but it definitely seems rather unseasonable.

It was all but 50 degrees F this morning at around 5a.m. wind just a blowing and Rain .... nothing but Rain.

The wind has died down a bit but now it's just wave after wave of Heavy rain - south central, PA

The biggest problem being that the ground is still somewhat frozen so it's all just pooling up and/or running off, which is making for some rather nasty flooding of roadways and low lying areas.

Wind advisory until 3p.m.
Flash Flood watch throughout the evening

w/ a high of 61!?

Waiting for the bad part here in Springfield, MA. Weird to me too, it's bout 50 here and drizzling, but 10 miles away and all places further North were crippled with an ice storm last night, most schools closed, except for Springfield/Agawam.

It was like, 28 yesterday. I know it's not "OMG I'm TERRIFIED"- but it is very sucky.

ETA: Flood warning here til tomorrow. My neighborhood floods with a light rain- if you guys don't hear from me tomorrow- help!

We're in Central/South PA near Gettysburg. Couldn't sleep last night and noticed the temp raising from in the 30's at bedtime to 55 this morning. Heavy rain for most the night. When I took the kids to school, creeks were flooding and roadways starting to flood.

i'm a little east of hershey at the casino. the weather has been not stop all morning. downed trees and power lines all over the place. temp is in the 60's out here, the wind is ridicuous. it's supposed to drop back down into the 30s tomorrow, with snow showers. can't wait to see how many people get sick because of the fluctuation in temp.

I wouldn't call it abnormal either, just unseasonal, and noteworthy.

Here in MA, we had a fall/early spring-like summer, and now a weird winter. I expected a heck of a lot more snow here, but it's been mainly rain.

FTheNWO- I've had a cold since October, I don't see it getting much better for awhile.

I'm in the Poconos in PA, watched a tree go over in the yard this morning, it's about 62 degrees right now, wind gusts, and we've had some thunder rollin. The creeks are flooding and we have some roads flooding out.

It's odd for it to be this warm in January here. The skies have been doing some freaky looking colors this morning, but I'm just keeping tabs and haven't lost any power yet...

It's just not normal for this time of year, so it has everyone in an uproar.

Yeah pretty wild weather here in PA (Berks county).

Hey is it just me or are we the only people who refer to our statehood by the abreavation?

I mean Ive never heard anyone say Iam from NY, TX, FL, NC or NJ ect.

Just wondering

In PGH,PA weather looks cloudy different colors -blue, dark blue, grey and white in color. The clouds are moving pretty fast but I dont feel nothing out of natures usual energy output.

i'm with you on that one stan. it does seem like we're the only ones that use our state abbreviation frequently. maybe it's just PA.

even some friends from virginia refer to pennsylvania as 'PA.' could just be laziness, but who knows?

When i stepped outside yesterday i was taken back by the temperature, although i have had my fair share of rainy weather, this was indeed nothing like English wintery rain, it was like a summer storm ..
