OK briefly... Got a letter this morning at 9am with appointment for son to attend clinic...
Husband and I have already said we will cancel the appointment as not needed.

I put the letter to one side to call after lunch and cancel.

Phone just rings and the woman asks for me by name and asks if I just rang to cancel my appointment on [correct day, correct time, correct clinic] because I was going on holiday!

I say wow no but I was about to call and cancel!

She said she hit 14713 [that redials last number that called you] now I haven't called that clinic since October 2009!!

She swears it was me, I know it wasn't.

Alternative reality or did my 'ghost' make the call for me! lol

Or is this just a coincidence that someone has the same appointment for same time, place, gender of child, age of child & ailment and her phone just happened to have a glitch that also recalled my number?

Totally nutz!

Well could be a timeshift or alternative reality.
Or could it be a memory blip on your part? For example I suspect I fed the dog twice one evening because I simply could not remember if I had done it. Now I could have been having 'a senior moment'
. Or sometimes we do things on auto pilot or it doesn't register for some reason.

lol someone on my forum said time shift and had to explain it to me... never heard of it.

100% did not make the call... others in the office would have seen / heard.

The woman dialed 14713 as soon as the 'other me' hung up.... prior to my phone ringing the office was silent and I was reading an email....

Alternative reality... wouldn't the people with me be weirded out by me not knowing I had called?

Not if it's a convergence, simply the memory of you making the phone call may not have stayed with them as well. A convergence is just two realities merging together, there may be some who remember or none who remember I read another post about the whole mechanics of this but I forget where I read it I would re-direct you to it if I did. :/

Why would the clinic ring you back to ask if you canceled the appointment?

If all the details were correct then they would have assumed that you did and would'nt have called you back.

The caller didn't rebook another appointment, not sure where you are based but in the UK certain 'specialist' clinics only allow 2 cancellations and rebookings before they take you off the 'needs attention' list and then you have to go through referral again...

Hmm but I was reading an email.. prior to that I was talking to someone in the office about a delivery... there aren't any gaps at all...

If our number wasn't on her redial system then I would have thought someone was playing a joke but then how would they have known date, time even if they did know name... This is just plain stupid!

I think you misunderstood me...if in one alternate reality you already made the phonecall, then there was a convergence with that reality and the one in which you did not make the call, you would retain the same memory of not calling as well as the people in your office, because the prominent memory is that you did not call. Understand what I'm saying? However the clinic personnel might beleive you did call, because they are the original person in the alternate reality in which you did call, so their memory would be of you calling, if that makes any sense to you?

Yup but... why didn't THEY also flip into my reality and not remember the call.. what is going to happen to the other me that did call when she gets booted off the list because the receptionist she did call is now in my reality and the one I didn't call is in hers not knowing she called....

Sheesh!! lmao... my brain is twisting!

Yep it is a brain twister. All I can say is think of it this way: The observer(person A) percieves one thing one way. if someone( person B) is standing across the room looking at the same thing their perception is, even if slightly, different than person A the original observer.

lol simple case of crossed wires,

The receptionist probably had a call for a cancelation and was very busy at the time and forgot to mark it down but made a mental note to do so.

Later she forgot who the patient was so decided to call back the "record" on the top of the pile - taking a chance that it is the right one as you havnt turned up?.

The bit about dialing 14713 was probably a cover as she made a royal mess and didn't want to explain.

just coincidence you were planning to cancel, was the time she called you close to the time of the appointment for your son?

No way a convergence of time lines and realities.... *does the twilight zone theme*
