Why do I even bother working

Looking at this report in the Daily Mail why do I even bother to work.

Why does one of the families who happens to be an immigrant have to live in london ? surley a house big enough in another part of the country be cheaper than paying £2875 per week !!

It also says that some families where receiving £30,000 a year just for housing benefits, it makes me wonder what else people get.

Personally I have to work hard to keep a roof over my head and my house warm. I should have had the wife pop out 7 kids and lived in an expensive house for absolutly nothing. Makes me sick that there are hundereds of old people who will die of the cold or families that just because both parents work they struggle to actually pay there way whilst really all you have to do is have a bunch of kids and live off the state.

Oh yeah, that't the kind of stuff that makes you want to go to your Reps office and choke the life out of him.

I think your right it just shows people that you dont have to work hard in life to get a nice house ect just have a few kids and the state will pay your way.

Personally I was brought up to work and pay my way but more and more I hear young people say "I'll get pregnant then the council have to give me a flat", All this leads to is there kids thinking the same thing. I have a family memeber who is just like that and she receives more per month in benifits in her hand that I do working.

We are now seeing 5th generation neds/chavs and work shy people. I know there are huge number of crap low paid jobs in the UK and at the moment for a lot of people not working means they have more in there pocket but where is there pride? where is there drive to better themselves?

In a way the welfare state is the worst thing that ever happened to the UK. It should be a stop gap not a means to live an entire life and never work a day for anything you have.

Almost makes you wish for the days of the Thatcherites. Three hundred thousand pounds for one family? Of immigrants no less. Seems to me they're doing the same thing in the UK as they are here in the US, namely to make class divides and hostility greater with their ultimate hope being some kind of race or class war. Keep this kind of insanity up and it bloody well might happen.

I'm seriously starting to think a class war is what they want.

They are playing both sides against the middle. Bankers getting bailouts and welfare queens living off our taxes. It's all meant to squeese out the middle class.

Perhaps it's worth pondering whether someone is out to demoralize you ?

Immigrants mean cheap labour or people that will not complain too much about working conditions.

The employers lap it up so having a proportion of them getting a freebie is a small price to pay for the fat cats.

My brother is currently living in a caravan (trailer home US) Monday to Saturday in this freaking weather ? He travels home to the family saturday to return to work on Sunday snow or no snow no work no pay .

Where he works the site is up to around 6 tafs and a couple of Irish and the one contractor has up 20 asian migrants living in a 3 bed house.

If a minority of these migrants end up claiming benefits than that is a price worth paying for the PTB to keep the employers happy with cheap labour and keep prying eyes off the real thieves.

To add insult to injury, when we phone the bastards at the bank we are put through to James in Delhi or Emma in Malta, and the bank makes a profit every second were on the phone trying to find out why the half a million pound mortgage we stupidly took out when they knew we would never earn that much has not been paid.

And a possible answer to you OP why do you bother working ? Well my suggestion my friend is don't, but that goes for everyone stay the hell from there. That's right let everyone that is fortunate to have a job phone in "well" , yes boss well we've had enough time to turn off corrie get the house in order and share the wealth.

It just occurred to me that the reason we both get angry at these kind of scenarios is because of the inherent design of our system. If we're the ones working then we're feeding those at the bottom whether they truly need this help or not.

Or alternatively people can work normal jobs to make extra money to have more than the minimum. Put another way, those who simply want to mooch must contribute by doing say field labor, cleaning up the streets, or doing something else (perhaps temp style work) to contribute towards their basic survival. The only time that this shouldn't apply is when no business or government office can find a use for the individual. Then the person can't be faulted for not performing a function.

In this case the person is basically "paying their upkeep" up until the point when we completely automate the processes of manufacturing / delivering food, sanitizing water, and providing housing.

In imagining this type of system it's harder to be angry with these people because they are doing something and it encourages the person to get off their arse to participate in society so they can have more than the basics. People that choose more than the basics get the benefit of not only the minimum, but other accouterments.

Unfortunately this can't be allowed to happen as too many are dependent on the money involved in the welfare system as a whole.

Her's an example, housing associations, there are hundreds of them across the country (and on the increase) creating many well paid jobs from office staff to directors to building contractors. Billions of pounds are involved yet around 80% of their tenants receive benefits so the rent is paid for and processed by other people whose jobs rely on processing all this.

Very very few of these homes go to people who actually have an income, for the simple reason that they are too unreliable as rent payers the minute they get laid off the rent dries up, when they decide to buy a plasma TV the rent doesn't get paid so the whole thing which operates on a knife edge could collapse.

It's insane but no more insane than paying a farmer not to keep pigs if you know what I mean.

Another example, crime, now may probably think I'm talking through my arse but the UK needs crime in order to justify all the machinations that are in place in dealing with crime. guess who have a tendency to commit crime more than others, yup that's right unemployed skint people.

The overwhelming majority of people passing through the criminal justice system are unemployed, so we need more lawyers, courts, magistrates, social workers,child protection agents,probation officers and on and on

Our government will never admit it but it needs a certain level of crime or the money will dry up, have a look how much a probation officer earns, who pays his or her mortgage when there's no unemployed ?

For every pound an unemployed person gets as a benefit be it in cash or material benefit you'll probably find that out there in crazy land there is 10 pound being spent employing people to process it.

What I've noticed over the last few years is that women have seemed to have done very well out of the whole deal, I've just decided not to expand on that as the thought sends me into fits of rage.

Wouldn't it be just great if the house they live in belonged to an MP.

As you might have read, we're having a bit of a healthcare issue in the States. I work full time, have a wife who is on disability, and pay a frightening amount for health insurance. My sister-in-law, jobless, gets everything taken care of at no cost.

Don't get me wrong - I'm glad we take care of our own, but *I* have trouble getting that level of care sometimes with my commercial insurance.

Do not be fooled that this is the way everyone on benefits is treated…oh no. That is the mistake people make. Most normal people are treated like scum by this government.
Oh, it’s all wonderful if you are an immigrant who has and probably will never contribute to the society they are leaching off. Better still if you have brought 100 relatives in with you. Wonderful if you come from a generation of scroungers, pop out a few kids and intend never to work in your life.
But woe to you if you are a natural born citizen, have always behaved responsibly, paid masses of taxes and paid your national insurance, but then fallen on hard times, because you will be treated like a common criminal. In fact you will be treated far worse than any illegal immigrant.

Ordinary citizens even if unwell…indeed if terminally ill will be made to travel long ways to medicals, regardless if they are able to or not, on pain of having benefits stopped if they do not go. Then some shameful company with NO medical expertise will test your capability to work, and are part of a government scam whereby only 5% of applicants will be certified sick enough to qualify. This in effect means that people with cancers etc are deemed fit to work and then hounded.

Then you will, although certified medically unfit to work, be hassled constantly, by having to go to frigging work interviews ..huh? You are off sick, you are certified sick…and yet you have to go to interviews to get you back to frigging work? Huh? You will be asked if you are volunteering anywhere. Huh? You are certified sick. You will be asked what your plans for finding work are…huh? You are off certified sick. Then you will be referred to a place for disadvantaged and disabled to get back into work…HUH? You are off sick…not frigging disadvantaged…and yet again, why in the name of God are you being forced to explain why you are not working, forced to consider plans and stupid useless training schemes when you are temporarily off sick and certified unable to work. You may have a higher IQ and have more skills than anyone in any of these offices but they want you to learn how to write a CV…why? as you are off sick and unable to work. Basically it is an exercise in hounding people until they break, so do not assume that everyone has it easy, as they do NOT...it is enough to drive anyone insane.

You, the citizen who has never broken the law, will be treated like some idle, lazy, arse picking, tracksuit wearing numpty who has never done a days work in your life, even though you may have worked your guts out for 30 years and contributed more to society than a single one of them, you will be treated like the scum of the earth. The stress of this treatment ensures that you will not heal and get back to work.

However, if you have never done a days work in your life, or for 30 years, you will get away with murder. If you don’t even pay your fines, you will not be touched. No TV licence…no problem, while pensioners are jailed. Seen playing football while pretending to be disabled, no problem, just a minor fine which you won’t pay anyway. Burgle all your neighbours and cause constant trouble and grief to all, no problem as the courts will let you go free. I suspect the lazy never have to run the gamut of interviews, never get their benefits stopped and do not have to fight to get their rights.
And if you are an immigrant, legal or otherwise, and who is to know - as the government surely do not, you will be treated like royalty.

What I would love to see is a test case by a brave lawyer, whereby, if you have not had to take many benefits before in your life, and if you have not used your fair share of medical services, that you get a rebate, to be used how you wish. You could use it for life saving vital drugs which NICE has deemed too expensive for you to have, too expensive because the NHS is treating every illegal immigrant, people travelling in just to get medical treatment and all their relatives. But they have no money for the British taxpaying citizen to get life saving drugs which they PAID FOR…so they will die. You should also get a rebate as you never agreed for a single penny of your tax payers money ever be used for immigrants to sit in luxury, or for ministers to line their own pockets with illegal expense claims for that matter.

You see, anyone other than an immigrant legal or not, would be given a cap to that housing benefit which would only allow them to live in the very poorest and worst housing available. So, either this article is a lie, or someone needs to account for this.

I am sorry but until the government can house, employ, feed, clothe and give heating to their own people, and tend to and medicate the sick without an inquisition, then not one single immigrant should be housed at all, nor let into the country. If they are let in they should have ample savings, and if they get any help they should pay it back two fold. In fact, even better, make them pay to come here. Immigrants on benefits should be housed on the worst housing estates in the country, because if they are genuinely here, either to work or as asylum seekers, then the worst places are going to be better than what they came from. If they are not…they can go back to their own places of birth. And they should be made to pay all benefits back. The Polish should not be getting damn child benefits while people die from lack of medication…and while responsible citizens starve on basic benefits. It is our money and we should damn well have a say where it goes, and to whom.

When immigrants and the totally undeserving are living in the lap of luxury, while those terminally ill, those who have worked all their lives so hard, the pensioners or the mentally ill, are treated like common criminals, then they are just asking for insurrection. You are right about people who work but on falling on bad times redundances ect are treated so bad my own father was treated like he was a criminal afte being made redundant.

It really does seem that if you work and get laid off you are considered scum by the benifts office and it should be the other way round.

Also another part of why do I bother working is that I like all the other working class people are paying for others to never ever work.

I would also add that I think that one of the reasons for ADHD (Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder ) being diagnosed willy nilly is that people who are on benifits get more money if they have one or more children diagnosed with the condition.
