As odd as it is, I agree with Carseller.
They are not being held outside the bounds of their contracts. Period.
As for the idea that they need a specific reason to, well it is as it is will all things military: you fill the needs of the service, simple as
that.
As to the song "communicating a thread" it sure as hell did communicate a threat. He specifically talks about lining up senior officers and
spraying them with his weapon and that they won't be stop-lossing anyone anymore.
You'll find that the UCMJ takes a rather dim view of any form of threat.
There are many that wouldn't be singing the same tune if this guy really did freak out and kill his superiors. They don't take these kinds of
things lightly, nor should they.
Military law and civilian law are totally separate entities.
