Back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program....

W.W.R.D. ?

God, help us to find another Reagan.

You do know he was speaking against medicare, and it passed right?

I mean I've never met a single person i know on medicare who would give it up. If it sucks so bad why are they so happy with it?

The things he said on the original record, never came to pass. Doctors have not been forced to move to another town because the government said so. Since medicare the lifespan has gone up on this country.

Sorry I call fail on his scare tactics then and now.

If you ever needed to use medicare you would know how badly it sucks. It will remind you of cattle, Russia and Soylent green.
Billions of dollars wasted, abused by medical facilities. Medicare is a monumental FAIL.

And thanks for watching the video NOT! the least you could have done is listened to it with an open mind.

I've heard the record, and cattle in russia have little to do with american medicare. I know plenty of older people on medicare my parents are on medicare. The day they finnally got it they were less scared about getting sick or becoming disabled. They love medicare, my neighbor across the street loves medicare. With medicare I don't have to worry as much about their medical bills and they can be assured they have health care when they need it.

Soylent green was a movie, you do realize that right?

Now you listen to it and tell me what part he was warning us about ever came true?

They "love" it because they never had real insurance so they don't know it is not normal to stand in a cattleline for hours waiting to be seen by a rushed, overworked doctor.

THIS is the part that came true:

Back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program....

YOU are living proof that he was right!

And of course I know soylent green was fictional duh.
ever heard of sarcasm?

Have a good day comrade.

What does that have to do with medicare?

My parents don't stand in line, when they need a doctor, they go. My mother just had eye surgery. I'm quite thankful she has medicare. I'd hate to see them lose their retirements over something like that.

How can something that assures the health of our aging population be so bad to you?

Yes I've heard the term.

You're quoting a man from the 20's. Reagan quoted this same man. When medicare passed, we didn't become russia, it's just not going to happen because old people have medical coverage.

If you wanna stand against socialism I can understand that, but rallying against medical coverage makes no sense to me. Why not talk about this new crap bill where you have to buy insurance or be fined? Now that I would agree is bad. But that's capitolism, and that's ok right?

fellow comrade, we ain't russia yet. we're not going to become russia. You're not going to get sent to the gulag for posting this, so you can relax some. Seriously have a drink sit back, and enjoy some freedom, we still have it right now.

AAARRGGGHHHHH!!!
I am talking about this new health care bill!!
I am stating the fact of how we ended up with it.
R.R. saw how we would end up where we are now with the introduction of medicare.
Socialist are very patient. That is why they settled for this "starter home" as they call it, because they know eventually they would find a reason to introduce Government run healthcare their entire "mansion"

God help us all...

Of all the problems facing the United States right now, none are more important than health care.

President Obama says rising costs are driving huge federal budget deficits that imperil our future, and that there is enough waste and fraud in the system to pay for health care reform if it was eliminated.

At the center of both issues is Medicare, the government insurance program that provides health care to 46 million elderly and disabled Americans. But it also provides a rich and steady income stream for criminals who are constantly finding new ways to steal a sizable chunk of the half trillion dollars that are paid out each year in Medicare benefits.

In fact, Medicare fraud - estimated now to total about $60 billion a year - has become one of, if not the most profitable, crimes in America.

Medicare Fraud the 60 billion dollar scam.

Nothing the government is involved in works the way it was envisioned.

A program for 46 million Americans, that generates 60 billion dollars worth of fraud?

IMO this healthcare bill stinks so bad, partially because the pesky socialists are NOT patient and concerned with the outcry of folks with RR's leanings. Funny enough these socialists have now created a corporate goodie plate that comrade Marx word not approve of, contrary to socialist doctrine, so go figure.

as far as medicare, it is a publicly funded, privately administered program
