Here's a short extract from the article for those who can't be bothered going to the website and reading the article.

The Pentagon wants to spend just over $50 billion on classified programs next year, newly-released Defense Department budget documents reveal. “That’s the largest-ever sum,” according to Aviation Week’s Bill Sweetman, a longtime black-budget seer — a three percent increase over last year’s total.

EDIT: That's a fairly insane amount of money...probably so they can finish off their underground bases before 2012.

That's awesome! I always thought Harlem needed a bit of sprucing up.

Give them a break! They just need to keep up with inflation.

Who cares that the rest of the world is in recession. I thought the black budget was much more than $50b a year anyway.

Or am I thinking the black black budget?

Get real. Who wants to live in an underground base?
They are building space stations that have wonderful views of the Earth.
Majestic may put one in orbit around the moon.
Great place to hang out before heading to the asteroid belt.

Underground bases may be a great place store food.
Hmmmmm..............
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we can build a space station Star Trek style, then Majestic
could build a floating city in the clouds.
Think Empire Strikes Back.

In theory it is allot higher than that, I guesstimate 500 Bn when you get into funds that seem to be going to ordinary projects that actually are diverted into or part of military projects.

Very hard to say exactly... or prove it, I could spend the next 3 years looking at where money went this year and not get as far as I'd like to.

Black Budget itself is a very fishy term, in essence "funds the public is kept in the dark on" Now if you really want your cranium to leak, try factoring in funds that "aren't exactly going to what they are titled as going to"
