Last time I saw one of those maps was when GW was president. The US was black. One of the least free countries. Nothing has changed but the president and now were one of the most free?

Doubt it.

I don't recall anything that used all the combinations I used to rate freedom, besides this is 100% unbiased. I was shocked America came in 13th with that high of a score too.

Yeah, somehow I doubt it.. that the US is not a flawed democracy. It's a flawed democracy during the previous admin, it's a flawed democracy now.

Freedom House puts out the Freedom in the World report.

Freedom House gets 66% of its funding from the United States government and has been accused by people including Noam Chomsky of being a propaganda arm of the United States government.

I would take their analysis of the U.S. with a grain of salt, they've given the U.S. perfect scores every year. They are probably largely fair when analyzing most countries, those that haven't gotten on the U.S.'s bad side any way.

Why the report's details are on Wikipedia I have no idea, they don't put any old report on wikipedia like NIEs or CBO documents. It makes me think propaganda artists from Freedom House or U.S. intelligence agencies got it added.

I wouldn't call Australia free. It's "free" as long as you do what you're told.

And I know there are places that are worse, but I see that as irrelevant. We're either truly free, or we're not.

Being forced to "work for a living" is not freedom. You should only have to work for luxuries. Food, water, and shelter should be provided to us free from our masters. If a farmer doesn't do it for his animals, he's in big trouble...

Please don't shoot the messenger I only did what the Indicies of Freedom are and it is not my fault if the reports lie or anything. I do not believe the US should be that high up and that in fact there really are no truly free countries these are just as free as they get. If anyone knows of another way for me to get the 'freedom report' that is not from Freedom House I could change this.
