I would suggest that if the electric universe model is correct, then the impact on our solar system will happen before we enter the clouds magnetic field.

Perhaps this could explain some of the disturbances which have been attributed to a large massive body beyond the orbit of Pluto.

it would also explain why there is a 'global warming' on Pluto (and other changes through Solar system, too):

In what is largely a reversal of an August announcement, astronomers today said Pluto is undergoing global warming in its thin atmosphere even as it moves farther from the Sun on its long, odd-shaped orbit.

Pluto's atmospheric pressure has tripled over the past 14 years, indicating a stark temperature rise, the researchers said. The change is likely a seasonal event, much as seasons on Earth change as the hemispheres alter their inclination to the Sun during the planet's annual orbit.

They suspect the average surface temperature increased about 3.5 degrees Fahrenheit, or slightly less than 2 degrees Celsius.

They are saying this is a cloud?

Weren't they saying only last month that this was a ribbon like wave, not a cloud?

The wave i pictured was that of the ribbon wave 'Nexus' from Star Trek Generations.

But now it's a cloud again huh?

Seems to me that Solar Systems are looking more and more like Atoms.

The components of an atom are great distances apart (relative to their size), much like the heavenly bodies of a solar system. And you may wonder what gives an atom its 'surface tension (what makes it a unified, singular body, in relation to the atoms around it)?

Quantum physics has it's own formulations for this micro-universe, but here we seem to have a similar concept in the macro: Solar Systems have a surface tension formed by magnetic forces emanating from the nucleus/Sun, but no doubt effected, if not manifested by the planets and other heavenly bodies. Like a skin it separates the inside from the out.

Makes you wonder where the similarities end...

Is a Galaxy a cluster of Atoms?

Is a Universe a Molecule? If so, then a Molecule of what?

I know this concept is virtually cliched by now, but this moves the cliched ever so slightly nearer to being a genuine theory, IMO.


Edit: Reading that back made me wonder, if i follow this Atomic/Molecular metaphor through, then what does the singular centre of every Galaxy - the Black Hole - represent?

Perhaps DNA !? The twisting force and phenomena that connects everything in this disparate, epic space/entity - the Alpha and Omega of everyone.

We think of a Black Hole as a twisting helix, but could it possibly be a double helix?

The big question here is whether and how any changes to our earthly meteorological (hic)"warming"(lol) are being affected by these clouds.
More important even is how we can blame this on human activity.

I suggest that Al Gore ask his "scientists" for their opinion and then twist their words to show how mankind is responsible and the only one to blame. Then we should give him our money so that he can save us all.

Could this possibly be the real reason for "global warming" as we are passing through these gases?

Except the quote is basically wrong, vis. "a cluster of supernovas exploded"

A supernova is a description of a sun exploding, ergo you cannot have an "exploded explosion" - perhaps they meant a group of suns went nova, or perhaps one sun going nova caused a chain reaction.

Either way we have been passing through this "bubble" for a very long time, it may have for example been part of the dinosaur die off.

There you have it... NASA is admitting there is an extra-terrestrial cause for climate change.

5,000 degrees C? okay in Farenheit, thats like 2,400? in the neighborhood of? regardless, wouldnt that basically heat us all up like potaotos goig into boiling oil?!!!!
and..i was a tad thrown off, as last i heard, the voyager spacecrafts were TURNED OFF, as they were basically at the point of being deaf(too far form earth to really pick up any of our signals) or is this wrong?

As some have eluded to in this thread, this "discovery" is pretty good evidence supporting the Electric Universe concept. This theory stipulates that electricity and the magnetism from electric fields in plasma throughout the universe are the most important forces acting on bodies throughout the cosmos - not gravity as has been taught since the time of Newton. The nature of many types of phenomena that have been accepted as fact by the mainstream science community such as the concept of black holes and the nature of comets are either proven as false or explained in a much more elegant and simple way under the Electric Universe theory.

It is because of these issues that main stream science refuses to acknowledge the validity of this theory because if accepted it would turn astronomy and cosmology (the Queen of the sciences) on their collective heads. Maybe this announcement on the magnetic "fluff" is a crack in the armor of the main stream science community on this issue.

We have known about the "Local Fluff" since the 1970's. The Solar System has been in it for a long time. There are other bits of fluff out there that we may run into in the future and some suggest that this may influence our climate by affecting the amount of cosmic radiation we receive but it is not a sudden event. We don't go "bam" into a cloud of fluff and all hell breaks loose.

These events would play out on time scales of tens to hundreds of thousands of years, which is how long it takes for the solar system to move from one cloud to the next.

The fluff is not causing planetary warming. A temperature of 6,000º is not very hot when you are talking about a very, very thin cloud of gas. In fact, it's rather cool. The interplanetary medium of the Solar System is at about 100,000º. That's right, and near Earth it is about 50 times more dense than the Local Fluff. The Fluff makes the vacuum of interplanetary space look like a cup of very hot fudge. The fudge (the solar wind) keeps that cold stuff away.

Some cool facts about voyager:

It is just over 10.2 billion miles away from the sun

Signals from voyager to earth take over 14 hours

Traveling speed is about 10.5 miles per second

The thermalitic generators that power it will run out in 2025

When the voyagers passes the heliopause it will officially be out of our solar system, supposedly this will happen in 2015, hard to be exact since the solar wind detector broke years ago.

So it has another 4.9 billion miles to go

That's just a rough calculation since when it passes out of the heliopause it will slow down.

Good stuff to contemplate before we celebrate the rebirth of the sun, our sun, who keeps us warm and feeds us.

Last I heard we were supposedly entering some galactic cloud that would increase the pressure on our solar sphere. I guess now, the new official word is that we have been in this cloud for a few million years, give or take a few hundred millennium. In universal time, we haven't had the time to blink an eye since we learned how to harness electricity. We still know so very little about the world.

How great is it that the Voyager Space Craft are still sending us information? I think that this is the most awesome news. There was a time when we knew how to get things done. Maybe that time will come again.

So, there is a lot more magnetism out there then current science anticipated. A nice Christmas present for us fans of the electric universe theory.

You have to understand they don't just "say" things, they study them. They simply didn't expect the clouds to be so magnetic based on previous models, until it was you know, discovered. Do you really need the scientific method explained?

Thats truly the most amazing thing, if it runs to 2025 it will be sending messages from roughly 15 billion miles away, outside our solar system itself.

This has everything to do with global warming. There is no proof that it is not a direct affect, any less than the people or the animals are a direct affect on the planet. No body can say for sure what the effects are are going to be but global warming can't be ruled out no mater what any one persons says. Only time will tell who's right, and it looks like that 6000 Celsius degrees and comes with a very strong electromagnetic field Local Fluff cloud has the upper hand!

What is says about most main stream scientists is they are much too inclined to promote "accepted theories" rather than propose something that may be revolutionary (and therefore controversial) so they can keep their funding coming in.

It's the same basic problem throughout society, the money interests (i.e. TPTB) is controlling what goes on in science and research (at least publicly, that is, behind the scenes these same money interests have all kinds of unconventional research going on, along with the knowledge and benefit of many suppressed discoveries, inventions, etc. resulting from those activities).

If you don't toe the party line in science you don't get funded or published . . . . .period.

I don't think you read the article very carefully. Specifically you seem to have missed this part:

"The observed temperature and density of the local cloud do not provide enough pressure to resist the 'crushing action' of the hot gas around it," says Opher. So how does the Fluff survive? The Voyagers have found an answer. "Voyager data show that the Fluff is much more strongly magnetized than anyone had previously suspected—between 4 and 5 microgauss*," says Opher. "This magnetic field can provide the extra pressure required to resist destruction."

So the statement that the field seemed to defy physics was based on the belief it didn't have a magnetic field, but now the answer has been found that a magnetic field exists, it seems like it does not really defy physics and tou just misread the article by focusing on the question and not reading the answer.

You also can't assume that every time you see a question raised about how standard physics works, the question somehow proves ANY alternate theory, including the EU or any other alternate theory. Alternate theories require their own proof.

I think some other posters in the thread seem to have missed the 5 millionths of a gauss magnetic field strength of the cloud, which is insignificant compared to the Earth's 500,000 millionths of a gauss field strength, which is 100,000 times stronger.

So while the find is interesting, it's really inconsequential for the Earth as far as I can tell simply because the Earth's magnetic field is 100,000 times stronger than the cloud's magnetic field.

Ah, but the Earth's magnetic field is tiny compared to the magnetic field of this cloud.

It is kind of like comparing the Earths magnetic field to that of a refrigerator magnet. Put a refrigerator magnet next to the compass, and it over powers the Earth magnetic field.
