Chavez says US drone violated airspace, orders shoot-down

rawstory.com

President Hugo Chavez on Sunday accused the U.S. of violating Venezuela's airspace with an unmanned spy plane, and ordered his military to be on alert and shoot down any such aircraft in the future.

Speaking during his weekly television and radio program, Chavez said the aircraft overflew a Venezuelan military base in the western state of Zulia after taking off from neighboring Colombia.

This story has been developing ever sense Chaves warned his people to prepare for war with the US and or Colombia back in the summer .

Just the other day there was a story about Colombia building a military base on the border they share with Venezuela .

It seems more evident with each passing day that Venezuela will find it's self under some type of attack .

Can we expect to see a U.S proxy war between Colombia and Venezuela in the coming months ?

I agree with Chavez 100%, any US spy Drone over his country should be blown to smithereens.

Next, the parts and camera should be collected and dumped on the UN floor to show every nation how far America will go to start a false flag war.

The US wouldn't never tolerate it... so why should he!

Maybe they want Venezuela because of it's equatorial position and Ande's to the West with high terrain and good amount of resources. Maybe the elite are thinking Venezuela is their Noah's Ark to ride out 2012 cataclysm.

Back on topic, Chavez has every right to shoot down any unauthorized aircraft in their airspace. The US would too. I think Chavez has reason to be paranoid and there is something coming their way.

i totally agree with what you say, also the fact of recent air/ military base construction plans. Everything thats going on at the moment is a carefully planned op to get to the ultimate goal, thing is no one knows what the "real" plans are though

Sounds like a fair thing, does not matter who the spy plane belonged to any country would shoot down a drone in their airspace. (Assuming they have the weapons to do so)

The U.S. has never wanted any Socialist countries in the America's don't forget we are the ones who set up all of the right-wing junta's back in the '70s and '80s in Latin America. We wanted to invade Cuba to overthrow Fidel Castro, and what kind of government would have been established there? A fake democracy with an open door for others to get natural resources and a stock market. The only reason they never invaded Cuba was because of the Soviet Union, then When the USSR collapsed so did the Cuban economy and all we did since then is talk about how bad Cuba is. Now we have another country that is Socialist and has power, Venezuela, so obviously America wants Venezuela gone at any cost. How about a proxy war? Well America would never invade Venezuela directly but they would supply Colombia with tons of great weapons to take down Venezuela and Iran and Russia would supply Venezuela with tons of great weapons. But don't forget about this new union that Venezuela is heading the Bolivarian Axis, all of these countries would surely help Venezuela in some way even though they are all broke.

Go ahead and shoot the damned thing down, if you can. What happens if they do shoot one down and it doesn't belong to the US? I have to wonder if there is a drone flying over Venezuala. Let's face it, Chavez is trying to keep a grip on his power by getting his people to blame everything bad that happens on the US. I wish the US had 1/5th of the ability that it is being given credit for. Hell if the US DID have this capability, it isn't like we'd use it. It takes balls to do this sort of thing, sorry to say the US lost theirs November of 2008.

Funny how little attention the Russian incursions into Georgian airspace received on ATS - even when it really did lead to armed conflict.

But Hugo Pugsley yells "US Spy Plane !!" and off you guys go with your false flag war rants. So very predictable.

Spy flights identified the Russian nuclear missiles in Cuba, and have doubtless saved our bacon on countless other (classified) occasions. Personally I hope we ARE keeping an eye on that guy, it's only prudent.

I don't buy it.

He is stealing business's left and right and his popularity is going down....

So he is falling back on little kims and adem-a-jihad's way of things.

Blame everything and anything, especially his lies, on the US.

What are you saying exactly?
Are you questioning the existence of a drone over Venezuelan airspace or are you saying that even if there is a drone he is just condemming it for political reasons?

If there is a drone if their airspace he has every right to shoot it down, how would you like a Venezuelan drone above your home in the U.S.?

What were you implying exactly?

Are you just throwing the old "ya ya let's just blame the U.S. for every bad thing on earth" in response to an article where the U.S. really is at fault?

Please explain

I for one will be happy to be more clear.

He is not telling the truth.

He is trying to create a sense of fear in his people when the only thing they need fear is HIM!

BTW, there is no proof of this, just big mouths word, which is as good as what I leave in the toilet.

U.S. technology behind the Drone but who was the man at the helm?

I am in agreeance with the majority here that any drone over a country that does not want it is open to being shot down.

To me the issue isnt that a dron was shot down its what was a drone doing over Venezuala? Rothchild has become a final answer for to much lately, IMO. There is evil in this world that does not own the Rotchchild name.

HACK, please read the link provided by OP, seriously dude.

It says chavez Claims-no proof.

He ranted that he would shoot down a drone if found.

That tin=plated dictator is about as honest as little kimmy or adem-a-jihad.

IF there is a drone, let him shoot it down, pick up the pieces and see if there is "Made in the USA" stamped on them. With the type and caliber of US satellites, the only reason for a drone to be used is in a tactical situation. I don't see anybody invading Venezuala so there isn't much possibility of it being that. Chavez is just blowing smoke.

A question to the people who think that Chavez is just blowing smoke ..

Do you not believe that tensions have been heating up between Colombia and Ven. for the last few months ?

Do you really think that the U.S wouldn't take advantage of or perhaps create this tension as a means to undermined Chavez ?

I think its very very likely that yes indeed there are drones flying over Ven .

I also think it very likely that the U.S has an invested interest in creating a proxy war between the two countries .

No I don't. He seems to be buddy-buddy with Obama. Chavez is playing a dangerous game. He is in more danger from his own people than the US. There's a pretty good chance that Chevez is going to end up hanging from a tree or lamp post. His own people are going to be the ones to do it. Has anybody given any thought that those "bases" in Columbia might be for training and equipping Venezualen nationals to re-take their country?

Do YOu realize the tension build up is purely Chavez blustering.

He is trying to start a war.

He reminds me much of Adem-a-jihad.

Always doing his best to try and start a war.

Both useless blowhards.

I seriously doubt any US unmanned aircraft is flying around Chavez's piece of the world. The CIA has a presence in that region and so does the BATF and DIA as well. Chavez' antics are just part of the anti US rhetoric going around these days. It wouldn't surprise me at in the least for Chavez and his goons to claim they shot down some US aircraft while displaying some wreckage as "proof", with that proof being some manufacturing metal placard from some other type of equipment they bought at a DRMO sale in the US. (the DRMO is the military scrap/surplus sales held at many CONUS bases and are open to foreign governments)

Chavez will more than likely keep shooting off his manure filled mouth until his ass ends up in a sling in which he will resort to begging anyone close to help him get out of. At the rate he's going, it won't be long either.
