LEGAZPI, Philippines – The Philippines' most active volcano could have a huge eruption within days, officials warned Sunday after detecting a drastic surge in earthquakes and eerie rumbling sounds in surrounding foothills. Tens of thousands of villagers have been evacuated as a precaution.

There was an erruption in 1993, and 2006. The one in 1993 killed 79 people.

i know somebody with relatives around there.

very scary hopefully no lives are lost.

they seem to be taking the right precautions.

I was trying to see if i could find a live webcam feed earlier today - but i failed at goggle. Would be interesting to watch live since it probably blows within 48 hours.

Just hope the poor people are safe - must suck spending Christmas being evacuated :-/

The leaders say they hope for a zero casualty rate.

Thats pretty ambitious, but they caught it early, and had time to evacuate.

I wonder how the USA would handle something like this?
I mean, you see how we handled airplanes crashing into buildings.
