Islam Growing in Chiapas, Mexico

I thought this was interesting because its the indeginous people who are converting to islam rather than muslims from africa or the middle east moving to mexico. the mexican government is rather alarmed by the growth of islam amongst the Mayan and Tzotzil Indians in Chiapas. In the future we will see if indeed islam is in latin america to stay and wether or not it will become a force culturally and politically. your thoughts?
