a normal breaking news section?

I know there's already a plethora of fora for us all to play about on, but I've noticed an increase in threads (or mainly, replies to threads) which are not alternative news, but just normal news. Which is fine, plenty to discuss there. More than enough. But I just wondered what other people thought on it, it seems to be annoying some people to an extent.

Whadda you lot reckon?
