Obama in his campaign promised that he would start focusing more on Afghanistan. It was not secret he was going to commit more troops as that was one of his campaign promises, as he was of opinion the war in Afghanistan was the result of a domestic attack.

We can argue that he just sending more troops into another war, but this was one of his campaign promises. The "shock" shouldnt really be shock.

I think Stewart is the greatest, but as I've said before, I support Obama's choice to send more troops. I agreed with him before the election when he said they were needed and agree with him now. I also gave the same chance to Bush with the surge, and whether it was the reason for the war in Iraq to turn the tide or not, I think it was a wise investment.

If you supported Bush's surge and are now bashing Obama for increasing troop levels, you are simply being hypocritical, and I have no respect for you.

Obama is handling this correctly, and anyone who disagrees would probably be impossible to please anyway. They will spin any move he makes just for a chance to bash him. I am as anti-war as they come, but I am also not the guy who gets the daily briefings and classified information on the war. I won't be an armchair quarterback and automatically bash him for making this choice. Instead, I will show a little support for our president.

Was there "genocide" when the last occupier left?. No.
Did the taliban follow those occupiers NEXT door?, no... they didn't go next door, but they'll be storming the shores of malibu with nukes to kill soccer moms and blow up your SUV specifically if we pull out!! OMG FEAR FEAR FEAR...lol his speech was an insult to intelligence

Obama said no such thing. but that obviously doesn't matter to you knee jerkers.

Subtlties and changes are not appreciated here, whether is in Afghanastan or Obama, simplification and cliches seem to be the standard response. sometimes things are way more complex than your anti war bumper sticker philosophies can handle.
Have a nice day in black & white simpleville guys!

afghanis wont stop douching their land until cleansed of the occupier stink... and anyone who reads just a little bit about history knows this. The afghans / taliban et al are aware 9/11 was not their fault, and a pack of fat lies our leaders used to occupy their soil and rape their resources.

Word for word, nah, but the overall message of the stale bush propaganda was be afraid of these strangers because they want to kill you.
That's just plain stupid, the afghani people he's all huffy about have killed fewer americans than "illegal aliens" from Mexico.

If you get killed by organized violent foreigners, are you any more or less dead because one is called "gang member" and the other "terrorist"?

Citizens in los angeles get attacked by violent foreigners EVERY DAY.. 35,000 marines at the US border would LITERALLY save more american lives.

So when he talks about the urgent need to kill more afghanis in order to keep me safe, I laugh because I know obama is FOS. The taliban are literally too far away to hurt me, or you, or anyone outside a few hundred yards of their small arms. If we're going to occupy nations where "attacks on US citizens are planned", it's time to invade mexico, south & central america, israel...and the telephone, e-mail, words.. heck lets attack the wheel because the taliban use those to plan attacks too.

I didn't expect much from dick cheneys cousin anyway... but this obama guy is just a joke.
