As a result, Judge Tills resigned. Stebick resigned from his position as Tills' law clerk. Trowbridge was scheduled to plead guilty the next day in federal court.

A former Rice Lake pastor is in jail Tuesday night after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a teenager. Prosecutors say the attack happened more than 20 years ago.

Angel Toro pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor counts of forth degree sexual assault. He was originally charged with four counts of third degree sexual assault and two counts of exposing himself. Those are all felonies. A jury trial was also set for this month.

Tuesday his victim says he's just glad it's over.

"How long is he getting? Because I’ve done 21 to life."

Doug Guillen says he's waited all 21 years for this day; the day he saw the man who raped him sent to jail.

"I feel like a free man, like a totally free man and he's not," Guillen says.

According to the criminal complaint, in 1987 Toro, a pastor at First United Methodist Church in Rice Lake recruited 17-year-old Doug Guillen to help him fix a fence. That's when Guillen says Toro sexually assaulted him.

The former pastor of a Florida Baptist mega-church charged with sexually abusing 21 women and one man when they were children won't face his accusers in court. Bob Gray, 38-year-pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday, just days before his criminal trial was scheduled to start.

Gray, 81, had been scheduled to stand trial on six counts of capital sexual battery, with jury selection beginning Nov. 13. Gray entered a Jacksonville hospital Oct. 20 with an undisclosed medical condition. A judge delayed his trial pending a Dec. 12 status hearing. Last week media reported Gray had been taken off life support.

The Mormon Church covered up its knowledge of a High Priest's sexual
molestation of young boys for more than a decade according to a Portland,
Oregon lawsuit that the church paid $3,000,000.00 to settle. The charges were
brought by one of the priest's victims, Jeremiah Scott.
Today, Scott's mother made a statement describing the Mormon Church as
a, "sanctuary for pedophiles. The church is so concerned about its public
image," Sandra Scott charged, "that it hide the truth from me that it had
recycled a known pedophile into a position of authority in the church where he
had unlimited access to young children." Scott's legal team hailed the
settlement as, "the first big step for one victim in the long struggle to
expose the Mormon Church's epidemic pattern of providing a safe and secret
haven for child molesters."
Scott is one of 21 victims of High Priest Franklin Curtis who abused boys
in Portland, Oregon, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and
Sheridan, Wyoming. Curtis, who was convicted of molesting Scott, has since
died.
The church claimed throughout the litigation that it had a constitutional
right to "wipe the slate clean" of any member who had "repented" for his abuse
of children and had been forgiven by the church. "It is a policy that puts
out the welcome mat for pedophiles like Franklin Curtis," Mrs. Scott
commented.

Broken Rites has helped to obtain justice for victims of a pedophile Catholic priest, Father John Sidney Denham. This priest finally pleaded guilty in July 2009 after getting away with his crimes for four decades.

He committed his crimes under the noses of his superiors and colleagues, while these people looked the other way.

The church recruited Denham as a trainee priest in the late 1960s and, according to statements made in court, some of his child-sex crimes were committed during his period of training.

Denham's superiors were told in the 1970s about what he was doing to children but the complaints were ignored. He was allowed to continue as a priest and was merely transferred to new districts, thereby putting more children at risk. Twenty years later, in the 1990s, a victim prompted the police to charge Denham but, with the help of church resources, Denham managed to beat the charges.

I wouldn't get too worked up over it. Maybe he could rest and relax in the Alps with Roman Polanski? I'm saying though, he'll get whatever is coming to him. You can safely join the Shriners when you're ready.

Of course I saw that but thanks for bringing it up again and avoiding my questions. The membership belonged to him, not to the Shrine, so I do not see the relevance.

Address the questions other posters and myself raised about pedophiles and other societal groups and how that relates to your post.
