Wow!
About 10 years ago, I was in high school. I was band geek, and we were on the way to a football game. The stadium was about an hour drive from our
school, and the band took 4 school buses. The buses always stayed in convoy, and had a police escort. One patrol car in front, and one in back. My
friends and I were sitting in the back of bus #2.
Now on the way to the stadium there is a levee system to prevent flooding. The road goes up and over the crest of the first levee, down into a valley
for a mile, and up and over the crest of the other levee.
So we are there talking and we go over the first levee and into the valley. The other buses follow, as normal. My best friend and I are looking back
at the buses, because the rest of our friends are sitting behind us.
We go over the next levee, but to our surprise . . . the other buses never crest the levee. It is a straight shot for twenty more minutes to the
stadium, and the other buses never come over the levee. We figured they broke down or something. Did not think anything of it.
So we turn into the parking lot of the stadium, and we lose sight of the roadway due to a big brick wall. Suddenly, the other buses turn the corner
into the parking lot . . . with a distance that made it look like they had been there in the convoy the whole time.
We asked the kids on the other buses what happened, because they had stopped. They said that they never stopped, and were behind us the whole time.
We freaked out. We still reminisce of that time warp sometimes.
Another time, maybe 6 years ago at a concert, I went to a concert. There was three bands playing. I really wanted to see the second band, because
they were one of my favorite bands at the time. I somehow missed their set. I was in front of the stage the whole time, and I was sober, as I was
the designated driver.
As we are walking out, everyone is talking about how good that band was live, and that they played better than the headliner . . . and I never heard
them play it!
