U.N. Watchdog in 'Kafkaesque' Limbo After Criticizing World Body

www.foxnews.com
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
The United Nations detained an outspoken critic and booted her from its New York headquarters in what the woman, a human rights watchdog, is calling an effort to silence her opposition to the world body.
Anne Bayefsky claims that as retaliation for giving a two-minute impromptu speech defending Israel, her 25-year career of monitoring the U.N. is now in jeopardy — likely to be placed in the hands of a committee chaired by the genocidal regime in Sudan.

There is much more than meets the eye and what Fox news is trying to potray.

Bayefsky is a Zionist and a defender of Israel.

This was her speech at UN after the submission of GoldStone Report after which she was escorted by 4 UN guards.
In brief: “This is a resolution that purports to be even-handed. It is anything but. It’s a travesty. It calls for accountability and in fact what we see instead is impunity for the Palestinian side. . . . And barely more than half of the members voted for the resolution. So the General Assembly was made a laughing stock in terms of its credibility. . . . The idea that Hamas is going to investigate itself—a terrorist organization is going to decide for itself whether or not it violates the rule of law—is something that no serious democratic society will take seriously.”.

(Not forgetting the fact that Israel refused to take part in GoldStone investigation.)

The Hudson Institute’s Anne Bayefsky couldn’t be clearer. She spells out her strategy of turning Israel into a perpetual victim to divert world attention from the serious charges in the Goldstone report, the UN’s human rights investigation of Gaza:

I think that the world of human rights has developed a weapon, I call it the ‘human rights weapon’. It’s one which inverts victim and perpetrator. It’s one which is designed to deflect attention from the human rights abuses by those who violate human rights. It is intended to circle the wagons, to invoke mass hysteria which suggest to people that they are under threat, which is in fact, imaginary. And to develop excuses for hatred and for terrorism. It’s a tried and trued formula after all isn’t it? To create imaginary enemies, to exaggerate what is a kernel of truth and to divert attention from the real violations in our midst.

Oops, she’s actually referring here to what she calls “the phenomenon that surrounds the rise of allegations of Islamophobia,” not, amazingly to the rise in allegations of anti-Semitism against all critics of Israel.

She and her friends at the American Jewish Committee’s UN Watch and NGO Monitor are some of the world’s top practitioners of this technique. They do everything they can to weaken and destroy the international human rights infrastructure so that Israel is never held accountable for its illegal occupation, siege of Gaza and more. And, just as she describes above, they do it through elevating the anti-Semitism threat level to HYSTERICAL RED! everywhere, all the time.

Franz Kafka was a major fiction writer of the 20th century. He was born to a middle-class German-speaking Jewish family in Prague, Bohemia (presently the Czech Republic), Austria–Hungary. His unique body of writing is considered to be among the most influential in Western literature.

His stories include The Metamorphosis (1912) and In the Penal Colony (1914), while his novels are The Trial (1925), The Castle (1926) and Amerika (1927).

Glad to have somebody else on our side.

Why is it that if we put up a post attacking Israel it gets hundreds of coments lasting for weeks on ATS, but the moment a post defends the Isreali state it is avoided like the plague?

Just wondering if there exists any clear thinking person from the other side who is willing to discuss "intelligently" the Israeli/Palestinian situation?

BTW: Intelligently = without bias
