The next three years should be quite interesting. Mr. Hope-n-Change exhausted himself in winning the White House, and for those who have the eyes to
see, the headquarters of Goldman Sachs is now in the Oval Office. Well, if we can’t have a truly progressive government, then we might as well
return to an openly fascistic one, which we will get either in 2012 or, at the latest, in 2016. The question is whether the fascists (i.e. the
Republican establishment), after having defeated the fascist-lites (i.e. the Democratic establishment), will be able to govern adequately with the
whackos (i.e. the Palin partisans) at their heels. I am not sure that it can be done, and if it cannot be done, then we have yet another indicator of
the immanent collapse of the American Empire, so long predicted and now slowly drawing within sight.
