I recently read this passage from Honest Abe, and I was shocked at the accuracy as it pertained to our times right now.
“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been
enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the
prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in the hands of a few and the Republic is destroyed.”

He was no prophet.
There were many people who raised these concerns during his time. Seems obvious now doesn't it. Shame.
Peace.

Well, thats one hell of an optimistic, uplifting speech from the then leader of the free world.
It sounds more like someone trying to get elected.

Abe wasn't a prophet but he was pretty wise. As stated already he, and a few others of the time saw the dangers of the corporate bankers. Personally
I believe that his views on the nations financial systems was what got him assassinated.
