USCG C-130 and Marine Cobra collide

Nine people are missing off the coast of California after the collision of a Coast Guard C-130 and Marine AH-1W Cobra. Debris from the C-130 was found after witnesses reported a large fireball in the sky. [edit on 10/30/2009 by Zaphod58]

According to the Coast Guard the C-130 was searching for a man missing in a 12 foot skiff and had just been told to contact military ATC at the time of the collision. The Cobra was one of two that were escorting two CH-53s loaded with troops heading to a military owned island for training.
