I, and most of the people I served and worked with, would much rather be thanked for feeding a family, than cursed for killing their family.

We need to get the hell out of there and stop wasting trillions of tax dollars and human lives attempting to install a puppet government run by drug pimps and warlords for the sake of an oil pipe line.

Does this mean that the US policy"
WE don't negotiate with terrorists
is no longer in force?
OR:
This is not considered negotiation.
OR:
The Taliban are not considered terrorists.
What am I missing here?

I nominate you to be tried along with any other traitors.
Or at least you and your family should go over there and peddle your crap in the caves and mosques. Maybe you could hand over your families fortune to them and feel good about it.
You could come back in one of Obama's propaganda boxes he is showcasing these days. Ba!

Gen Petreus himself said that they did the same thing in the latter stages of the war in Iraq with great success. He contended that it was far more const effective to pay these people off than fight them. So maybe we should run his butt up the pole for treason, too, eh?
Opportunists suckered the russians in the same way... and wouldn't you? if some big clumbsy empire was offering you cash money & goodies to do nothing.. and all you had to do was recite a script, why not? I'd think if it a my own personal way of bleeding the occupier while gathering intel for my brother and sister US citizens.

Hey Donny, trying to figure out who you are responding to because the moderator removed that along with your quote. Thanks, man.
So the gist of what i gather after reading most of the replies in this thread is this: Most of you don't have a problem spending money on killing people in this war but you have a problem trying to buy them off to end the war so we don't have to kill them?

I'd like to know how you drew the conclusion that I don't have a problem spending money "on killing people in this war"? Can you point out in ANY of my 3 threads where I even hinted at that? No, you can't, and furthermore, I think being there now is a total waste of lives. When it comes to American lives, money doesn't even enter the equation.
However, you need to come up with a way to handle what will happen to women once the Taliban take over, since they will go back to being nothing more than slaves or "objects', devoid of even basic human rights.
Do YOU have no problem with THAT?
