Maldives Hold Underwater Meeting

news.bbc.co.uk

The government of the Maldives has held a cabinet meeting underwater to highlight the threat of global warming to the low-lying Indian Ocean nation.

President Mohamed Nasheed and his cabinet signed a document calling for global cuts in carbon emissions.

Ministers spent half an hour on the sea bed, communicating with white boards and hand signals.

Just seen this on the BBC website and thought it was worth sharing. Not your average board meeting is it? lol It was done to highlight Global Warming (If you buy into that lol)

The Maldives stand an average of 2.1 metres (7ft) above sea level, and the government says they face being wiped out if oceans rise.

Not a bad idea. All those poor low-lying islands should start doing this too. That way, when the oceans swallow the lands, you already know how to hold meetings.

Really though, I think it is a good idea to bring awareness. This meeting only had the president an his cabinet. I'm sure that the Maldivians already know their land is being swallowed by the waters. They should host an International Summit and force the attendants to have the meeting underwater. That would spread word a little faster, I think. Heh, Imagine the UN meeting in scuba gear...

Well, fore warned than they are, time to move to higher grounds for them.
Or are they going to try and seek compensation from some large country for their problem?

Don’t be fooled by the innocent cleverness of this publicity stunt.

It is a precursor to a International Meeting on Climate Control and the signing of a draft treaty that will both create a carbon emissions tax here in the United States but also signs away sovereign rights of the United States to an international consortium of nations regarding Climate Control.

The United States will cease to exist as an independent sovereign nation if that treaty is signed.

That this kind of marketing and theatrics is occurring as a run up to this meeting is very ominous.

Let me ask everyone this, if we know there was once upon a time an ice age that covered the whole globe, and that slowly over the course of thousands of years the climate warmed and the ice receded and continued to recede why would the ice stop receding and stop melting on a planet that is NOT BELOW FREEZING? Duh.

Climate control is a scam.
