Top generals in Islamabad raise 'serious concern' as package labelled a tool of American neo-imperialism

The US scrambled today to rescue a $7.5bn aid package for Pakistan that has elicited furious criticism in Islamabad and underscored growing tensions between Pakistan's civilian and military leaders.

Pakistan's military and government have received more than $15bn in aid since 2001.

The US funding offers $1.5bn a year for five years for new schools, hospitals, microfinance schemes and

Wow John Kerry
And Obama is going to sign this into law next week the article says!

Ridiculous!!!!!

U.S. Really really needs to stop meddling in foreign affairs, why don't they send this money to California and Detroit?

It's printed money that will devalue the USD dollar, and all of it is going abroad during a serious economic crisis.

Listen, if someone asks the govt. for money to help fund his business, the govt. later found out he used that money to fund terroism or attack other businsess(a.k.a India), then is the govt. going to keep sending money?????

No, they have the same credibility as when they got the first paycheck in 2001?

All is erased?

Then both nations are funding terroism!

I agree it's better than Bush's tactic seemingly because there's stringent clauses, but still man.
Use the money at home or even better don't print it at all!

Will the aid be given or is it just 'promised'?
Quite often these aid packages come with conditions.
Such as they have to spend most of it with American companies.
Guest who will building the schools and supplying the equipment.
It is also political to keep leaders / countries more loyal to the USA.

I am not saying it is justified but it's not quite as bad as it sounds.

US 'Aid' is purely a political tool.

Basically it comprises of two things;

1. Bribes
2. Coercion

The coercion part are the conditons attached to the bribes. Many in the US, and often I see it posted on these boards "Man we give out all this aid to these countries, and we do this and that for them."

Sorry guys - your not doing countries any favours with 'Aid' Its pure BS - its just another form of US imperialism - but don't be sad - the IMF and World Bank are the masters of it. They create foreign debt so huge, the countries can't pay it back - they keep going down until the IMF literally owns them.

IMF and World Bank loans are similar to the loans given by Tommy Two Fingers and his ilk - expect broken knee caps, and firebombing to result.
