The US State Department has asked Israel for more information on its intention in Rafah and what will its plans are going to be with regard to the demolition of the homes in Rafah. "On Monday, Israeli troops and tanks circled the camp in preparation for a threatened new offensive, causing panicking residents to try to flee".

The Israeli helicopter fired three missiles at the surrounded refugee camp, killing four people,and wounding at least 17. one critical Hospital officials have said at least two of the three dead were gunmen linked to President Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction. The gunmen were taking cover behind a wall which collapsed on them when it took a hit from the missiles.Israeli tanks and troops have been circling the camp all day,Meanwhile, hundreds of residents have evacuated their homes causing panicking residents to try to flee. Israel forces are responding to the deaths of five soldiers in an anti-tank bomb that exploded near the camp last week. There are plans to widen a buffer zone between the camp and Gaza's border, where the bombing happened.
