Thanks, GB. Looking forward to reading it.

That's one GREAT avatar you got there, btw. If that's any indication of how scary your horror story is going to be, I'd better meditate and find my peacelul calm center first.

Nope... plenty of time to spare. Just read your submission too.

I'm sure there will be a plethora of comments regarding extreme flatulance.

The contest ends tomorrow night at midnight EST.

Just over a day left.

Then, it's up to the judging panel, who will need a few days to choose the winners.

Good luck, all who entered.

Wow... 20 submissions to a contest requiring a minimum of 1000 words!

That's impressive. The judges are going to have a hard time choosing who the winners are simply because all the short stories are the result of hard work coupled with the joy of writing.

The contest is now closed.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone.

All great submissions and as well excellent work from the writers.

Yes, good luck to all. Is there any word yet on a contest for November?

This has to have been the toughest contest EVER for the judging panel to agree on. It was my wish that all of the submissions could be declared winners simply because all deserved it. Unfortunately, only three must be chosen and here they are:

Alive - SmokeJaquar67

The Uninvited - whitewave

Oh, For Someone To Play With - berenike

Honourable mentions:

Agartha - Mr Headshot
You Never Know What You got Till Its Taken - jackflap
The Offering - Magentice
I Don't Want to Remember Anymore - Ahabstar
The Death of John Foster - GhostlyBigfoot
Operation Gatekeeper - SpartanKingLeonidas
The Halloween Costume - Cameoii

Congratulations to all.

Edit for accuracy

Thanks masqua, and congratulations to the winners, and as well, congratulations to everyone who entered.

Everyone should be proud of their work.

I enjoy entering the writing contests, and it may lead to actually getting published.

Keep up the good work, everyone.

From whitewave :

whitewave regrets not being able to reply here, but would like to thank those who voted for her story.

Very many thanks - this has been a great competition. Congratulations to everyone.

I enjoyed reading the other entries, but felt a bit shy about leaving comments. If I say I spent most of October being totally creeped out, I hope it is taken as the compliment it is supposed to be.

This was an awesome contest. I didn't get to read every entry because I was busy with a lot of other stuff but I will get to the ones I haven't read. Congrats to the winners and every one who entered a story. This was a tough one! I look forward to the next contest.
