The US has notified Seoul it will withdraw 4000 US troops from South Korea for combat duty in Iraq, a Pentagon official confirmed today.

So, is the chaos in Iraq taking priority over N.K.?!

I'm not sure we should read too much into this. This may simply be part of a troop rotation. All too often the news only covers half the event. Who knows though, maybe they want them to have some combat experience before they put them back in Korea.

I was stationed in Korea for 2 1/2 years (loved it!) this is a big deal. We used to joke that we were safe over there because they won't deploy us anywhere! I think this is just a way to refresh the troops until November. A lot of homecomings, no one from the states gets sent over there. Good for votes.
