Decomposing bodies, juked cars, ship wrecks, circus animals, torpedos and guns. Just a few of the strange things scuba divers find at the murky riverbeds of New York.

Here are some strange things that have been found:

• 170 boat wrecks dating back to the 19th century

• A grand piano

• A dining room table

• An ice cream truck

• A giraffe that escaped from the zoo

• A submarine

• Countless cars

• Bodies and firearms

I was reading this in the paper and I had to share... Some crazy stuff they find down there. I wonder who's submarine it was? lol.

Really? This was strange to find?

As long as I can remember, there have been jokes about people ending up in the East River. Actually I think it was even mentioned in the classic Hitchcock film, The Rear Window.

The people that end up in the East River are the low end homicides... mostly the randoms.

Being ground up and used for chum on the fishing boats it seems was the more vogue method last time I was home in NYC.

Yea

Even New Yorkers would stop and watch a drowning giraffe playing a grand piano

That's the one that gets me. Probly a Russian nuclear, wasn't in launch mode (yet6) so they left it
down there then decided to make the article and mention it. So no one can say they didn't tell us.
