Hallucinations (these obes whatever)
Changes in eating or sleeping habits, energy level, or weight (its normal)
Delusions (conspiracy theorist are called delusional)
Nervousness (how can you be calm when there is so much going on?)
Strange statements or behavior (9-11 inside job)
Withdrawal from friends, work, or school (whois here not?)
Neglect of personal hygiene (i dont wash hair everyday)
Anger (annoyance towards those who tries to tell me what to do)
Indifference to the opinions of others (why should i care)
A tendency to argue (just expressing my opinion)
A conviction that you are better than others, or that people are out to get you (im pretty sure im better than most, yes)

I prefer the legal definition of insanity- a danger to oneself or others. Your list reminds me of the pharmacomercials for restless legs syndrome.

paranoid? Maybe. Schizo? Not in the least.

And let us not forget what the great Kurt Cobain said:
"Just because you're paranoid....don't mean they're not after you"

No that is my favorite saying but I cannot find who originally said it.
I do not think it was Cobain.
I googled it.
If anyone knows, please.

I don't understand what you are saying. Its so hard to think. Oh look, a squirrel. I'm hungry, tired and way 400 lbs, oh and jittery. I wish Obama was a NASCAR driver. I got fired for not showing up to work and now I smell bad. That really makes me mad. But who cares what others think anyway. You are all wrong and I can prove it. I don't need any of you, I can do it on my own....who's that over there behind the tree?

Gee, it's too bad the only treatment for schizophrenia will make you fat, and diabetic. You will also die early as a result of the diabetes. Face it ladies this is some rich, connected bitter woman's (or extremely bitter effeminate males ) scam to make you look like porker.

Most of those symptoms correspond with hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidic people are confused. They are too tired to visit friends or organize much of anything. They have dry skin which is easily irritated by chlorine; untreated thyroid sufferers probably avoid the over chlorinated water so they could be accused of uncleanliness. Due to fatigue, hypothyroidic people are easily irritated. Fatigue can cause halucinations in otherwise sane people. Of course, treating the thyroid won't have the benefit of making you fat and a premature corpse. I am not saying schizophrenia does not exist. Just whoever composed that list wanted to treat more people than the law(at this time) would allow.

Yes I had already seen that post.
I do not believe the quote originated with Kurt Cobain.

The origional quote I believe was:
"Just because they really are out to get you doesn't mean you aren't paranoid."
Steven Brust

I could be wrong though.

Sounds as if you glamorize schizophrenia.

Ive been diagnosed schizoaffective (bi-polar type) for over 15 years.

The past ten years I've seen more and more people in inpatient therapy who really don't need to be there and it's placing an incredible burden on mental health care workers, the entire mental health system and makes my time in inpatient(which is suppossed to be a break from insanity) absolutely unbearable.

Go ahead. Play into the myth of your mental illness if you insist.

Joke about your "symptoms" and so forth. I don't find it amusing.

You'll undoubtably have a lot of things to complain about when and if you actually do find yourself in the System - if you thought the outside world was "controlled" by the Powers that Be - just wait until you're in inpatient.

There's no such thing as Schizophrenia. We are all (everyone on earth) just taking a different path down to truth.

Some people will die of swine flu vaccines, some will be evicted from their homes, some will lose everything they have, some will be drafted to war, etc.

We are all taking different paths, but they all lead down to the truth.

Actually yes there is. People all over the world suffer from it in varying degrees.
Please do not come here with the usual pseudo-spiritual nonsense, because your very words belittle those who DO suffer from it.

Also the OP can you please show us your Doctorate proving you have the right to claim who suffers from Schizophrenia and who doesn't.

I hate threads like these, it attracts the worts kinds of people, the holier than thou crowd who make jokes or deny mental illness.
