Iran tested a missile-launching system and two types of missiles Sunday, the state-run Press TV said. The missile tests come amid tension over the Islamic republic's nuclear program.
The tests come after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disclosure Friday that Iran was building a second uranium enrichment facility.
But the timing of the missile tests has been widely interpreted as an Iranian show of force in the face of the international storm of criticism over the secret facility.
Tehran carried out the missile tests now "to show some muscle, show some strength, and say the game is not over for Iran yet," said Alex Vatanka, a senior middle east analyst at IHS Jane's.
Iran test-fired medium-range missiles, state TV reported on Monday, a day after the Islamic Republic's elite Revolutionary Guards launched short-range missiles as part of several days of war games.
"Iran test-fires medium-range missiles," English-language Press TV said in a scrolling news headline, giving no further detail on the type of missiles or when the test took place.
After claiming to successfully test-fire two short-range missiles during drills Sunday by the elite Revolutionary Guard, the missiles fired on Monday may have the capability to hit Israel and U.S.
The missiles, fired at targets around the country Sunday, included the Fateh-110, a short-range ground-to-ground missile, and Tondar-69, a short-range naval missile, the station said. Iran plans to test the long-range Shahab missile on Monday.
The tests, which are expected to go on for the next 10 to 11 days, are codenamed "Payghambar-e Azam 4" or "The Great Messenger 4," Press TV said.
I honestly believe he's mad.
Those were annual missile tests that they carry out every year, its no big deal.
Iran test-fired two short-range missiles and tried out a multiple-missile launcher for the first time during military drills in the Iranian desert on Sunday, according to Iranian state-run Press TV.
The news came as President Obama prepares for the first direct diplomatic meeting with Iran in 30 years, which will be held in Geneva on Thursday.
After Iran's revelation to the IAEA last week that it is developing another nuclear enrichment site, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, and China will insist at the talks that Iran allow immediate and unrestricted access to the plant.
The Washington Post suggests Iran will be given till the end of the year before the United States pushes for sanctions against the country, while other reports indicate the Obama administration will insist on compliance within a matter of weeks. In an interview this morning, Defense Secretary Robert Gates will tell ABC he believes Iran intends to have nuclear weapons.
My opinion...for what it is worth......Iran has a right to do as it wishes with its nuclear facilities.

What is going on here?
Is this all just propaganda or is it just too real and bizarre to be true - but is true anyway?
Is Ahmadinejad's intent on painting a big red bulls eye over the heart of his country?

The Great Prophet IV maneuver, which is a sequel to The Great Prophet III carried out last year by the IRGC naval and ground forces in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz region, started on Sunday and is expected to continue for several days in two phases.
The IRGC commander said the main objective of today's demonstration is to "evaluate the technical developments that Iran has achieved just recently in its surface-to-surface missiles," noting that long-range Shahab missile will be fired tomorrow.
He also added that medium range Shahab-2 missiles will be tested tonight.
