Message off the planet

PITY the poor inhabitants of Gliese 581d; some day in 20 years' time, the planet -- which was discovered in 2007 and is theoretically inhabitable (a bit like Los Angeles) -- is going to be hit by a tsunami of spam.

My home country Australia will be the first nation on Earth to send messages to Gliese 581d, and by ca. December 2029, we'll receive replies from the inhabitants of that planet.

But unfortunately, we have spammed them so heavily, they could invade us like the aliens in Independence Day.

What do you think?

I kinda have a feeling aliens live there. But not intergalactic kinds, aliens at the same level as us - aliens who have barely entered space, are entering their information age, still fight wars, etc.

I am a strong believer that the system simply has too much right with it, and must have some kind of life. So good luck with your replies from angry young alien women asking why you're offering them enlargement pills for an organ they do not posses.

LOL, have fun.
