According to an Iowa congressman, President Obama has said he wouldn't mind being a one-term president if that's what it takes to get major health care and energy reforms passed. Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-IA) told reporters after a town-hall on health care that, during a meeting with Blue Dogs (of which Boswell is one), Obama said he'd be willing to get bounced after four years.

So is it worth it? Barack Obama ran his campaign on several pillars, health care "reform" being just one.

What about education?

Well surely then Obama has been given his warning, and he knows what he is doing. Right?

Oh, he'll be a one "termer" all right. It's just that the "term" will last 40 to 50 years.

I find this article interesting. It seems to suggest that he plans on making a lot of people angry with him for the changes he plans to impose, and that he does not mind.

To me this means the changes are going to be made, whether or not the majority wants them or not.

At least he seems to be following through on some promises he made, where other Presidents have failed.

There won't be a United States in 2012. Something big is happening, Obama is more likely an interim president until the new system is brought online.

I think that Obama is just throwing tidbits out there for people to speculate on.

For the Health Care issue, it will sure as Hell take more than one term.

And, unfortuanately, one term may be too damn much, considering he inherited this mess from Bush, and is only slowly using his broom to clean it up.

Obama likes to tease and taunt, and this, to me, is just something to give people to talk about.

considering he has only been in office six months, he still has plenty of time to approach education.

After your term as President you will always be considered an ex-President whether you served 1 or 2 terms. You will always have a voice.

Mr. Obama will always be a hero to the left. He knows that he only has a certain amount of time to implement his socialist policies, and the time is now while the Democrat Party has total control. 2010 will be a different story, much less 2012.

Mr. Obama is not risking anything. 1 Term and implement everything his socialist heart desires or 2 terms and accomplish nothing. Obama will take option one everytime.

He's focusing on healthcare now because he faces losing the mandate in 2010.
Without the house and senate behind him things won't necessarily go his way.

He is going to be a one term president because the majority of people who voted for him did so because the felt Mcain Pailin was not a viable choice. I think the republicans understood that Americans were so feed up with Bush that there was no chance anyone would defeat an nominee from the democrats... even one as thoroughly unqualified as Obama.

This health care debacle and the chaos happening at the town halls shows that America is a conservative nation that does not want European style progresiveness. Look at history, Clinton is the only two term democrat president since FDR, and that is because he was very conservitive by democratic party standards... balencing the budget, defense of mariage act, don't ask don't tell, NAFTA, etc....

Obama will be another Jimmy Carter.

I'd vote for Obama again. I think he's a good leader and he's worlds better than Bush. Although if the Republicans don't # up (which they will) and run Ron Paul, I might have to consider my choices a little more.

Obama needs to attack this deficit though before it'll be a landslide. I'm kind of pissed off because I thought when I was voting for Obama I was voting for someone who'll balance the budget and drug war reform. But at the same time there's still three more years to go.

Obama is so FOS his eyes are brown.

That pretentious "sacrificial" baloney is contrived.

It defies logic.

If his plan was a good plan, and wanted by America, he would be re-elected.

If his plan is a BAD plan, he can plan on getting turned out.

He's getting turned out if we make it that long.

He has just about 12 months to get done what he wants to get done, and that's assuming the country doesn't get sideways before the 2010 election.

I can also confidently state that a lot of Congressmen and Senators will be turned out as well.

A more corrupt, and painfully obvious crooks - have never been acknowledged by the American people.

At the end of the day - at the rate things are deteriorating - we'll be lucky to see 2010 elections - much less 2012 elections.

Too many pissed off people, too many potential conflicts with the fuses lit, too many perilous variables.

This is nothing compared to 2003 or all the chaos during the beginning of the two wars. Remember when literally millions of people hit the streets to protest? If that didn't destroy the country, a couple of 300 pound old bald men throwing temper tantrums on live television isn't going too either.
