Iraqis Protest Against Shi'ite Militia in Najaf

By Suleiman al-Khalidi
NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - Hundreds of Iraqis marched in Najaf Tuesday calling on militant cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to withdraw his fighters from the Shi'ite holy city.

It was the biggest and most public display yet of mounting local exasperation with an uprising launched last month against the U.S. occupation and follows a U.S. crackdown on Sadr's Mehdi Army, which says it plans to open up new fronts in its war.

great news huh? no coverage on the tele though...wonder why?

The reason they dont mention it is because they want america to hate the iraqis and this will turn into one word "Genocide"

I find this encouraging. The whole point, if there was a point, to this war was to give the Iraqi's freedom. These kind of demonstrations by the rank and file citizens seem to indicate that they don't want anyone but themselves calling the shots and that would include the clerics.
