Somebody doesnt seem to understand that government is a corporation.

Assuming one is somehow more altruistic than the other is pretty naive.

They both want the same thing: wealth and strength.

This idea that government is somehow looking out for your best interest is absurd. History has taught us that. Current events teach us that. By the same token neither is the corporation. History has taught us that and current events teach us that.

The only person who gives a damn about you and your well-being is you.

Even if you hired someone or some entity to do nothing but look after your well-being 24 hours a day your well-being would be right behind earning that paycheck in his list of priorities opening your now "well-being" up to an awful lot of subjection and gray area.

The only logical thing to do is stake out an extreme position, reject all others and attack anyone who disagrees.

Only then can we have peace and order throughout the galaxy.

Those statements are so absurd I'll just keep it quick.
"The government" is not a corporation, corporations ( and members of the government ) make money FROM corporations. The government does not exist to make a profit.
Can you agree at least that we need a government?
Government, however flawed is civilization.
Do you mantain that "the government" does nothing at all for the public good? nothing?
What public good do corporations do? Provide goods and services to the public for a price, and distribute some profits to shareholders. Fine.I am a sharholder in numerous corporations.
The question is how much profit is enough, when does the pursuit of profit become damaging to the public.
Some good ideas for reform were presented here, but the Republicans are presenting NO IDEAS AT ALL! None.
The "debate" in Washington is not over health care, or public good, but SOLEY ON WHERE THE MONEY GOES.
Funny how ATS seems to have a big influx of far right wingers since Obama was elected isn't it. Makes me yearn for the Reptlian posts.
