Red Clouds

oh good, then i am not a loon. Your hubby sounds like my friend so we know something very strange happened since those 2 reacted.
Yet still no great explanation for the red clouds!??!??!
Weird, i thought someone would have jumped in here with a completely innocent scientific explanation by now.
Anybody else want to take a gander at the red cloud mystery??
I describe the incident in vivid detail several times in this thread so take a look.

Did a search out of curiosity and saw this - www.physicsforums.com... a few ideas there!

Sounds really beautiful! I wish someone had pictures that had some out.

I've seen this as well.

If I had to guess, I'd say it is either:
a.) reflection of city lights off of the clouds at night
b.) reflection of airport lights off of the clouds at night

I've seen these late at night as well when I'd wake up in the middle of the night and I'd think it was a forest fire, lol!
