At This Rate We'll Need To Depopulate!!!

no we dont, what we need to do is to stop warring with eachother. and utilize more of the earths land mass for growing crops.

also cut back on the meat production, (people eat too much these days) as they take too much feed, and produce too much gas.

Apparently there is enough land in africa to grow crops that could feed the world. and more.

1) Yes it was good to give the go-ahead on stem cell research.
It's not in Humanity's favor to hold back on Science. The trick is to make ALL people aware of their responsibilities when new cures are found.
EVERYTHING on Earth can be used either for Good or for Bad.

There cannot be a greater plague for the Planet then how humans NOWADAYS are showing their disrespect for the Earth. They and oh yes WE, cos we're ALL responsibile in some way or another, are ripping this Planet apart, living in our own garbage (ON the planet and AROUND - spacejunk - the planet), #ting and poisioning the Waters, the Air and the land.
WHY do you think humans BREED more when they will have the possibility to live longer? Don't you know that mostly 'poor' people have the biggests families with the most childeren? Many people today choose NOT to have any kids at all. And beside that people do NOT choose (lit) to have kids, even IF we make ourselves believe we do. It's not a random act for life without Soul is NO life!

3) What's to come is a Better World when ALL people on this Planet make an effort to change things for the best.
A Planet with Care, Help, Love and Community values instead of an egoïstic, selfish, individual society we have now.

I agree completely with this.

If everybody on this earth realized that we really need to utilize what WE WERE MADE FOR (this planet)....then there would be no disease, famine, etc, etc.

I agree with it also.......but I think it was a generic answer that was only refering to the title of the thread, and I don't believe he read it to understand what it was about. How would everyone realizing something (what we were made for?) bring an end to disease, famine, etc. ect. ???

The title "At This Rate We'll Need To Depopulate" was to bring attention to the scary reality that stem cell research could lead to the fountain of youth and ability to synthetically create life among other godlike abilities that Mankind might not be ready to bare the responsibility for.....or suffer the consequences.

The title obviously suggests the future.....just answering "no we don't" is really kinda stupid...the title isn't "We need to Depopulate right now"

Playing God is never a good idea IMO, one small oversight or mistake and we may create problems for which there are no solutions. How do we know creating life from synthetic sperm won't result in a nightmarish mutation which doesn't manifest itself until much later. Are the researchers in this field anything like those in the pharmaceutical industry? You know those scientists pumping "medicine" out of the labs that have so many side affects that you end up worse than when you started.

Humans created/contributed most of the disease and misery on this planet themselves, if we could just acknowledge that and perhaps adapt healthier lifestyles, than we wouldn't need these miracle "cures" for everything. I personally think we as Humans have the potential to create the best of circumstances for ourselves, however, TPTB shackled us before anyone got a chance to realize that. We kill ourselves/each other off too quickly for overpopulation to become a problem in the near future, and that's just how "they" like it.
