I haven't been on AboveTopSecret in a long time, so I don't know what's new and what's old.
Anyways, I was browsing on 4chan.org and came across a thread that said congress was trying to pass a bill that would stop hate speech on the
internet. The bill is called Bill S.773.
It would basically shut down websites that have hateful speech on it. 4chan.org would get shut down, youtube.com would get shut down, and numerous
other sites.
S.773: Cybersecurity Act of 2009
A bill to ensure the continued free flow of commerce within the United States and with its global trading partners through secure cyber
communications, to provide for the continued development and exploitation of the Internet and intranet communications for such purposes, to provide
for the development of a cadre of information technology specialists to improve and maintain effective cybersecurity defenses against disruption, and
for other purposes.
I want to put an emphases on "to improve and maintain effective cybersecurity defenses against disruption, and for other purposes."

This is probably going to be part of the Net Neutrality scheme the government wants to pull off.
