General Motors nears deal to sell Hummer

"We're not today in a position to be able to identify a buyer. It was part of the agreement," GM Chief Executive Fritz Henderson told CBS's "The Early Show." "We believe the buyer is quite capable of closing." The New York Times reported Tuesday that the buyer would be a machinery company in western China, The Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company Ltd., that would like to become an automaker. The story cited a person who insisted on anonymity.

I snipped the part of the story I found most interesting....With the "Import Band" on chinese made vehicles and the new cafe standards you couldn't buy a hummer if you wanted to. That's freedom!

I just find it funny that the article states in the sub-title that it's going to save jobs....but only through the transitional phase.

Oh, the irony.

The rise and fall of the American Hubrismobile...

Maybe China will have better luck selling these monsters.
I guess the solution for Chinese drivers trying to negotiate a street full of bicyclists is to just plow on through with a Humvee.
