India's new government to speed fighter jet deal

www.reuters.com

NEW DELHI, May 22 (Reuters) - India will soon hold field trials for the purchase of 126 fighter planes in a $10.4 billion contract that is one of the world's biggest current arms deals.

Boeing's (BA.N) F/A-18 Super Hornet, Lockheed Martin Corp's (LMT.N) F-16, Russia's MiG-35, Sweden's Saab (SAABb.ST) KAS-39 Gripen and the Eurofighter Typhoon

With a stronger mandate, Singh is expected to push through key decisions including greater military cooperation with the United States which had been stymied because of opposition from his former communist allies.

I'm not too happy to hear about this.

If you look at a map to see where India is situated, having strong military ties with the U.S. is NOT in their best interest.

This is too high of a budget for India, especially during times of a rollercoaster of an economy.

People don't realize how bad things could get for India.
Too much fluctuations

I agree. US stucking its nose between China-Pakistan, making stronger India ties, which were started at Bush era with Nuke deals - are great concern.

After Mumbai "false flags" there was high push for war with Pakistan, but those tensions could not rise, because counter threat from Pak - war was ruled out - but then US has offered missile shield to India... And those patriots are maybe already deployed, or in near futures agenda to deploy to region... Those missiles will unbalance the region, and give Indian war party highly needed advantage in front of new war plannings.

USA is causing very dangerous situation, offering arms to both sides - which still are in edge of all out war. There already has been rumors out - that India is behind uprising, new weaponry for Taleban - even supporting with manpower.

US should really pull out from there - not to offer weapons to both sides of very destructive enemies.
