I went through a terrible winter where i was laid out flat with a bad flu (or something).
It has left me absolutely lazy and with no desire or ambition to even do the dishes.

Does anyone know what i could take, something natural to give me my old zip back?

Right now i am trying something called MaquiBerry, something that has tons of antioxidants. I still dont feel any change.

My husband is getting peeved
because i went from an impecable house cleaner to doing just the basics...and thats with some effort.

Has this ever happened to you?

How did you get your energy back?

I have to be careful because i take high blood pressure meds and i dont want my heart to explode taking something funky from the pharmacy.

Any advise is appreciated.

No idea if you're into meditation or anything, but you can "energise" yourself this way

Not claiming that this is a cure or anything, but it's free and there are no drugs involved, so it's got to be worth a shot.

And if you're on high blood pressure tablets, I doubt your doc would give you any stimulants like ephradrine, as that could make your blood pressure worse.

Have you tried eating lots of high enery foods? Like bananas and chocolate? (like you need an excuse to eat chocolate
)

edit to add- If you're thinking of doing something, but haven't got the get up and go to do it. Visualise yourself doing it in your mind first. See yourself picking up the hoover and running it round. It makes actually doing it just that little bit easier

I have to stay away from chocolate, my gosh, i'd get as big as a house

I do need to go buy some bananas.

Thank you for that tip. They have potassium, maybe thats what i need.

Thanks.

You're probably going to hate this answer. I'd advise talking to your doc. It's entirely possible you could be dealing with something hormonal.

A good diet will cure a lot of ills, but some things require more. If nothing else, whatever you can eliminate as a possible cause will put you that much closer to an answer.

And you could ask your husband if the vacuum fits his hand. My guess is it does.

Hi Yeahright,

I will ask my doctor about the hormone thing. I think my hormones [if i still have any] could use a tune up.
I'm sitting here contemplating washing 5 dishes. Its that type of thing.

My husband is spoiled and he needs to get over it.
He likes to putter OUTSIDE the house and nothing inside.

If that isnt bad enough he has ordered Levitra and
.....how do i say this in a lady-like way? Its just not happening right now.
:bash:

Maybe ive said more than i should, but i'm all stressed.

I understand stressed, believe me. I hope you figure out what's wrong, because the no energy thing can really lead to other things and it starts to be a vicious circle. You get bummed about having no energy, and the depression depletes you even further... Not a good merry-go-round.

And I could comment on the rest, but let's just say it wouldn't be prudent.

Hang in there.

You're absolutely right about the depression. I know i am depressed over lots of things and that does make things worse.

Anyhow, a trip to the dr. is in order.

I would advise buying something called greens plus. Its for extra energy or you can buy the detox one.I used it when I was training for something and it was awesome.
I never felt groggy or tired and had all the energy I wanted and I still fell asleep the minute my head hit the pillow.
From my understanding of it if you ate all day you would not get all the vitamins and minerals your body requires...this is all of it in one drink.
I have even heard of doctors advising cancer patients to take this stuff.
Ginseng is good as well but since greens plus has that already then go straight for the greens.
Hope you get back to square one.

glad your going to the doctor hon. there are a number of things that can make you tired. Stress can be one of them, but anemia will do it too.. and if that is the case you need to find out quick. Start taking some iron supplements in the meantime to see if that increases your energy after a week. It takes time for your body to restore your hemoglobin. *hugs* Hope you are feeling better soon.

Oh, honey.....don't be sad so much.

Try a bottle of red wine and some of your old friends.....records..music...happy memories.

Works for me everytime.

I'm working on your new avatar and I know that will cheer you up.

When I feel like I need a kick in the bum, I set myself a personal challenge: make a list and do stuff! All the activity and the sense of achieving things puts me right back into the groove. Accomplishing even the smallest thing is something to be ticked off that list and it works wonders.

Need a little "nerbism"?....

The sun is out,
The sky is blue,
I hate it when,
You say you are too...
But it ain't raaaaaainin'
Rainin' on yoooooooooo.

So give a smile,
And take a while,
To sort it out,
Cos there's no doubt,
That you're are gollllldennnn,
Golden in your spaaaaaark.

We love you so,
And let you know,
And when you need,
We come at speeeeeed,
Cos you're innnnnn usssss,
In our hearts and minds.

It ain't that bad,
So don't be sad,
Today is bright,
Tommorrow might,
Be the heavvvvvennnnn,
To kiss you onnnnn the nose.

I leave you now,
And offer a bow,
To one who shines,
Through dismal times,
Our little Temmmmmmpeeeeee,
Laa Dee Daa Dee Daa Dee Deeeeeee.

Chin up, face the sun, big breaths and remember we're thinking of you.

ps....my little princess loves you too: Princess

I think that you may be on to something.

I am a lot of things but depressed is not one of them.

I think that we have been so caught up in all the grown up things in this world, including the responsibilities and the world stressors that we have forgotten how to let go and reconnect with our child self and with our friends.

What happen to weekend card parties. Having friends over for dinner? Picnics? Beach parties?

We have forgotten how to be have fun.

I don't know if this will help, but it's a trick I use sometimes.

Right after I get up, before I even get dressed I do whatever chore(s) I really don't feel like doing.

By the time I've finished I start to wake up properly and find the work is all done and I haven't really been 'there' to do it.

Another trick is when I go into town and don't enjoy the journey. I tell myself to 'buzz off' and come back when the journey is done, then go into automatic pilot mode. I 'come back' in time to do the shopping.

I hope you start to feel better soon. Do you have anywhere you could go for walks? Fresh air and exercise can make a huge difference to your sense of well-being (as well as all the other benefits).

Amazing! I'll have to try some of those ideas...i dont know if they would work for me, but i can surely try.

I live on a road with no sidewalks and people come barrelling through..but thats no excuse, i can walk against traffic. Now that its finally warm, i am going to go for a walk early in the morning.

I want to follow through. I better set my alarm clock.

Never!

We all get caught up sometimes in the belief that being responsible should come first though.

I'm 44"teen" and will always have the child I was with me.

Well someone has to get the ball rolling.

I just happened to have to go to the blood bank last night and I started teasing the young lady working there about protection from Vampires. She said that she wasn't much into the Vampire thing but don't say anything to any to the other people that worked there because they were real Vampire movie lovers. To make a long story short we started talking about what we thought was the best Werewolf and Vampire movies and the time got away from me.

So I have decided to throw a Vampire/Werewolf movie night at my house. Everyone will bring the movie they think is the best. We will vote on which ones to watch and we will watch while we stuff ourselves and drink ourselves silly.

Just to do something different to have fun for a change.

This is going to be an old farts party no kids allowed. Cheap and fun.

DG.

I went through something like this back in September and October. I've got to keep in mind that it wasn't the flu that I had. What I had was a sinus infection that basically put me flat on my back for a month. There were days where I would feel better and there were days where I just felt like I had no energy. Now what I did was as simple as can be. All I did was get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water, and stay off my feet. Even after I had gotten over that crap, it didn't seem like that I had lost any get up and go. As for something to help with it, try some Ginko or some ginseng and see if that helps. If they don't work, try a steaming cup of water and some freshly squeezed lemon juice. That's just one thing that I have done before and it has helped me.
