Just a little point of interest. I dont personally believe they have any significance, just a little... cuteness/sweetness I suppose
www.september11news.com...
And 'Page Down' once

Edit: Also, the evil faces down further I find quite amusing

I think they have been debunked.

Debunked? As in non-existant? The faces or the crosses?
I'm not saying I believe the crosses have much significance, I just find them amusing/some what satisfying

I think it was said that the building fell, and those stood.
I maybe wrong. That would be whats debunked.

im almost 100% positive that those faces have been debunked and if they havent been then ill do it right now. Those faces in the smoke are fake.

I'm not saying I honestly believe there is the devil looking at us in the smoke
I'm just saying I think they are kinda cute lol
Do you mean to say that the faces in the smoke are photoshopped or something?

wasn't one of the crosses "built" and erected by the rescue personel on site ?

I think I remember seeing that on tv a few days after the attack.

Cute lol....

please do care to explain. Now bunny rabbits are cute, buildings with planes in them...no no

Moving back to the topic, those faces look fake. Crucifixies are....interesting, to say the least.

The faces have been debunked, so to speak. There were some doctored photos (some of which were aired on CNN days after 9-11) which CNN came out and announced to be fakes.

As for the cross, that was real. There's a monument now in New York which has that cross on a pedestal. (Wonder when the ACLU is going to go after that one
)

As for the building falling and those 2 I beams standing amidst the rubble proving it to be debunked as far as happening, I probably have as much trouble understanding that as you probably did reading this sentance. The building fell. Those I beams didn't. If someone had gone there and set it up, that would have been debunking the cross's origin.

I dunno it's kinda hard to explain, maybe that's my psychotic mind for you.
Statistically, they would probably have been bound to find the crosses in all the rubble, but the point still stands that it's somewhat... pride and indignant that they are using them as religious objects..
dunno, kinda hard to explain

Edit: Admittedly the faces have been debunked now, but I still wouldnt have been surprised if they were factual.. Some people's imaginations can be stretched to someeeee degree, and through power of suggestion or power of forced imposition, it'd spread like wildfire

If they value their lives they won't. A lot of people were inspired by that. I realize that in buildings constructed of steel there are very often plenty of beams shaped like that. The point was that in a time of desperation many people involved needed some sort of symbol for reassuring and inspiration. That was their symbol. It definitely should be a part of any memorial because it was there. Neither the ACLU nor anyone else can deny that it was there and that it was important to people. I get the feeling that if the ACLU would protest its presence they'd get clubbed in the head by about half a million people.

Then we need to hope they do go after it
The ACLU has taken a quest upon themselves to rewrite the first ammendment from "Freedom of religion" to "freedom from religion". :shk:

Too true. Somewhere down the road groups like the ACLU - which were originally intended to foster freedom of speech and freedom of religion etc, and were originally very helpful in allowing people to worship as they pleased - moved more towards coming up with ways to prevent people from believing in what they want.

My personal opinion is that the WTC crucifix was as much a part of that event as anything else was and it should not meet any opposition from being included as such.

It's the American Civil Liberties Union..."defending" the bill of rights.

www.aclu.org...

This is a site that constantly talks about the ACLU, too:

American Civil Leberties Union (read): radical group commited to protecting minority rights even when they are outlandish and dangerous.

And by minority I mean non majority, not in an ethnic or racial sense.
