Freedom House, a nongovernmental organization that supports democracy and freedom of the media, said in its annual press freedom survey that "negative trends" outweighed "positive movements in every region, particularly in the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and North Africa."

Found this article to be rather eye-opening and decided to share it. It is important now, more than ever to have place like ATS where we can exchange ideas and news freely, uncensored.

The article only discusses the trend as it relates to other countries, i wonder just how much freedom the press has lost here in the US.

i wonder just how much freedom the press has lost here in the US.

In thinking about that, i've hit a conundrum: if there truly is censorship in the press from (insert evil power here), i don't suppose we'll ever really know just how much, because it would be censored.
