I'm talking about my textbook here. They just said anyone who thinks that the US is giving away their sovereignity, anyone who believes in that the fed was evil setting the monetary policy, anyone that cares about individual freedom is a right wing extremist. I know that liberals hate conservatives... but this is too much. They also said some things about racist ideology of right wing extremists but for the most part they basically painted the picture that the only people who were worried about our country, or, believed in an international conspiracy involving the new world order were right winged extremists. MY gosh. The politicians have readily admitted to such things in the past. And the textbook author says that the only people who are against it just think it's bad for us... I mean YES it's bad for us, you think we would like giving our country away to an international body such as the UN? And the UN fails anyways. So.... my gosh what is wrong with the left and academics? I mean the author actually said that right wing extremists care about individual freedom and are a threat to society. Of course, knowingly the author put everyone into that group even those who aren't extremists. My goodness, what is wrong with some people? I mean seriously. I signed up for college to learn but not to be indoctrinated with leftist thought.

Wow that sounds like one crazy book. Do you mind sharing the name of it and the author? Where do you go to school and what class is it for? Is your teacher some sort of commie?

That's the problem with college courses. Anything that isn't math or literature is going to be the professor's version of truth and reality. I once took a course, supposedly a writing course, that used two books detailing how everything is the white man's fault and how only white's can be racist. What exactly that had to do with writing I still don't know. Basically it just all depends on the professor. If you get a good one, they try to get you to look at things from both sides. But some just can't put aside their own beliefs long enough to teach.

What's the title of the book? It sounds like they took the material for the book straight from the DHS report on right-wing extremists.

By the way, I have theory to answer to your question of what is wrong with academics. My theory is that most of them live in this quasi socialistic/communistic environment called a university. Their goal in life is to get tenure or whatever the word for it is. Once they achieve that they are more or less protected for life. In their mind Socialism/Communism creates this same environment for the whole world. Which makes them feel safe. They need to feel safe, that is why they became Professors instead of going out into the real world and trying to kick some butt. Its the closest most respectable thing to living with your parents for the rest of your life or being a permanent student. They dont want to have to ever grow up and take a chance.

Sure. The name of my textbook is Political Ideologies: Their Origins and Impacts Third Edition by Leon P. Baradat. I don't wish to reveal the name of my school as I go to a local community college. I'm taking political ideologies. I was reading about fascism and Nazism and it talked about the new world order conspiracy for a bit. It said that previously that it was limited to right wing extremist thought but now it's not (that a international conspiracy was)... it pointed out things that these right wing extremists said about it... I'm taking political ideologies. No, my professor isn't some kind of commie-- lol. But, I just wanted to point out how silly the left can be with academics. It's like they think since they're the majority in the schools they won't offend anyone by spouting nonsense of what the other side thinks.

I mean, the author says we don't have to be fearful of the US government, and, that gun bans aren't somehow bad... and that only right wing extremists believe the UN is evil. It's sad what colleges have degenerated to.

There you go again, complaining about your textbooks....here's a quote from you on the "Was Sociology Created So That Individuals Could Blame Everything on Society?" thread
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I think you're probably right in that I am not getting a balanced approach to sociology. I'm taking a sociology class right now and my textbook author is obsessed with poor people and is obsessed with people who are overweight, and, my textbook author seems to make opinions seem like facts. It's lead me to the belief that people can't be objective even if they tried to. That is why I think that lots of sociology is BS because once you put your value judgment on it that becomes an opinion. It's that sociology seems to view things as if there is a society that encompasses everything whereas in reality it is only individual people that acts within a territory which they are referring to when they talk about society. There is not an omnipotent society that sociology refers to. I just find a lot of it nonsense to be honest and I think it's just one more way that people have of labeling people and groups.

Really Frankie now it's 2 textbooks that are brainwashing you to the left?
