I like to read the intros when new members post stuff. I don't care for the "hi, just signed up." and that's it posts. I like this thread more
when you get to learn about the new members.

The newbies who post a lot of detail about themselves are the best due to the fact that you learn a lot about them. Also the ones who express what
they are interested in are great too

I'm here, as such, but I too found this thread in the Recent Posts List.
I'll poke my head in the Introductions forum from time to time, but I rarely say anything unless somebody happens to catch my attention. Still, it's
a good forum; otherwise, we'd find BQ&B clogged with introduction threads.
