Not only the electrical grid, but water systems, sewage systems, and other infrastructure, have been booby-trapped with sinister software 'bombs' that can be activated in the event of war or other significant event.

This has been known for some time, and already over $100 million has been spent to repair the broken software, but it is anyone's guess how much more lurks in cyberspace.

And it was the government that discovered this, not private industry.
