That is sweet. 1 thing though - you only get a single 30 minute flight for 12 Gs????? and you are there for 4 days. I'd want to be up there every day!

It's a 30 minute flight, but you're trained over the first 3 days. They actually let you fly the aircraft!!! (With an instructor, of course.)

Yeah seriously dude, it's not like renting a Toyota Corolla from the Avis. You're flying a high tech piece of avionics that cost millions of rubles to craft.

No surprise, really, since their space administration is willing to sell tickets to space as well.

FLY THE MIG-25 TO THE EDGE OF SPACE
Of all the legendary MiGs, the MiG-25 "Foxbat" flies the fastest and goes the highest. We've got a seat reserved for you in the cockpit of this amazing supersonic high altitude interceptor. It's capable of Mach 3.2 and rockets to a height of over 80,000 feet - to the edge of space where the sky is black above and blue below.

www.incredible-adventures.com...

What It's Like - by Max Dereta: "I can feel the acceleration and enormous power of the engines behind me. I actually feel (and look) like an astronaut. My body is completely protected by a special G-suit. With a full-face helmet, hermetically closed, I breathe only 100% pure oxygen pumped inside. I'm strapped into the ejection seat in the front cockpit . Alexandre is in a separate cockpit , behind and above me. We can't see each other, we can only talk via the radio. But we don't talk much anyway. As we climb higher and higher, the view becomes more and more breathtaking, almost surrealistic. I've never seen anything like it before. Among all the instruments in front of me, I pay attention to only two: the speed indicator which shows Mach 2,8 and the needle on the altimeter rises to number 27,000. In other words, we are flying with the speed of more than 3000 km/h at an altitude of 27 kilometers- almost three times higher than Boeing 747 normally flies or, say, more than three times as high as Mt. Everest!"

Out,
Russian

It's sounds fantastic! But for 12Gs shouldn't you be allowed to declare war on somebody?

You know, nothing major, but like Malta or something?

To be honest I'd take an F-16 over a MiG... I've actually flown a P-51 Mustang once. I take American Fighters and Interceptors over Soviet.

Awesome chance for some people though. There are deffenately some lucky people who are gonna be flying up there.

Yeah, but you have to know people to fly in an american aircraft. Out of curiosity, why did you choose the F-16 over any other plane the US has?

Ah... as a kid I loved the Thunderbirds... and still do... they fly the General Dynamics/Lockheed F-16C Fighting Falcons. Anyway, I was obsessed over the plane them and the Blue Angels in the F/A-18A's and B's were just absolutely amazing to me.

Back to the question...

The F-16 otherwise because my chances would be greater of getting to fly an F-16C than an F-22A or YF-23A. If I had my way though... I'd fly an F-15ACTIVE.

lol Personally, Shugo, I'd like to fly an SR-71. Fly at extreme altitude and extream speeds. Although I would like to perform manuvers, as well, and that little buddy doesn't do them as well as some others. As far as realistic flights on US jets, I think I would like to fly an F-14, or maybe an F-15 (non-ACTIVE). But if I had the option of an Su-27 (I do
) I would want to fly the SU-27 or F-15.

Of course, I'd love to fly in a Proteus or a Raptor, but that's VERY unlikely.

They had a show on History channel today wtih the f-22 in it.

That thing was sa-weet!

If I could fly in anything though it would be the sr-71 blackbird but that ain't gonna happen.

F-16 is great, but might as well go for the gold. If I could beg my way into an F-16 flight I'd try and do it off an aircraft carrier.

I got a feeling that's next to impossible.

Spiderj

Anybody ever done that?

I think you'd be crazy... it's never been performed... the F-16C is not made to be launched from an aircraft carrier. It's supposed to be for base take-off and land.

Well which one is the fighter that can launch from an aircraft carrier?

Whichever one that is, that's the one I wanna fly in.

I bet taking off and landing on an aircraft carrier is just cool.
