I'm a lover of science fiction, and it has always intrigued me how, since the form began, writers and artists have striven to envision the future as
being different from their present, but in hindsight their visions have always been powerfully influenced by aesthetic, social, political etc. cues
from their own eras.
As somebody once said, 'the future ain't what it used to be.'
