I thought some people here would be interested in this new video that came out today. I'm really intrigued and a little worried at the thought of robots not just in war, but for domestic control.... Terminator here we come!



In this powerful talk, P.W. Singer shows how the widespread use of robots in war is changing the realities of combat. He shows us scenarios straight out of science fiction -- that now may not be so fictitious.

Allowing robots to think for themselves is a very bad idea. Robots are good for combat, but they should be controlled by human imput. If we allow them to think for themselves, then we will end up in a future just like in the Terminator movie series.

So how are robots any different from any other indiscriminate weapons like land mines or cluster bombs?
