The other day I noticed a strange voice like sound eminate from my PC that is a foot from my face.

It is almost like when your on a cordless phone and you hear sombody else on their phone. Only it was like it was part of one word, cut short. not like a partial sentence or somthing.

Well I just heard it again and it sounds exactly the same as it did the other times I heard it. Just a short digitized voice like sound making a word that is "cut off"

The thing is this time the speaker knob was turned down and my monitor speakers arent even plugged in.
I have DSL and have phone filters and just started experiencing this.

any ideas?

it seems like I hear it once a day so far, not like its happening all the time

Here is a possibility....

You do know that "most" cases have a speaker independent of your speakers/sound card.

It is used for the "beep" codes when here is a problem with the computer.

Now, wires tend to act like antenna's (remember the old stereo antenna's were nothing more than a "t" of wire).

It is entirely possible that the wires going to the speaker in the case picked up a bit of transmission from the air and it went out the speaker.
